Children of Men (2006) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Thank you to our Marble winner Brian for this one!!

I was not expecting to see Michael Caine in this! He was great in so many ways.

This movie is right up my alley, it's dark, depressing throughout. What a concept, and execution. The visuals are amazing, and the long continuous shots are astounding 🤩🥰

I may need more Alfonso Cuarón (huge bonus, he directed Prisoner of Azkaban which I absolutely love!!)

If you'd like to request a movie, head over to reactr here

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here and watching along with me!!

I couldn't do this without you <3

10/10 for sure!! The sad truth is that the refugee camps are so real at all times. At any given time, there is always a conflict happening somewhere in the world, where people are treated like that. I would be so interested in having a time machine to go ahead like 200 years in the future and read the history books to see what has happened. It's possible that there would be medical studies showing that infertility gets worse and worse, or if they've found ways around it. Maybe this movie will actually happen in the future 😨 PoA is just such a great film... I'm due to rewatch the HP movies soon lol!!

Yay to rewatchable darker movies! There is some light at the end though!! His character is fascinating, in that he's not a perfect hero, or someone who just wants to do good in the world. He's very relatable, which makes it great!

This is simply a 10/10 movie. The writing, the directing, the acting, the camera, the sound - simply everything was done so marvellous. It was so depressingly real, despite it being a dystopia. The imagery of the bombings or the refugee camp mirrored now historical events that were all over news or still very fresh in the minds of the people at the time the movie was produced, like 9/11 or the torturing/abuse of people in prisons like Abu Ghraib or Guantanmo. The movie is highly political and was (at least here in Europe) controversially discussed when it came out. Infertility is actual a problem these days. Several studies stated that men produce significantly less sperm than 100 years ago...🤔 And you're absolutely right, "The Prisoner of Azkaban" is my favorite HP movie too, by far...🤩

Love this movie. Most of the movies I can rewatch often are franchises or comedic movies that I use as escapism. This is the one darker movie that I find rewatchable often because of Clive Owen's character, and the quality of the world they created.

Benjamin Bradtke

Oh yeah, Gravity is one movie that I will never watch lol

I wish there were more Cuaron movies to recommend! The only one I'd recommend against is Gravity as it might wreak havoc with your motion sickness but, hey, I'm not a doctor and it's a great flick.
