A lesser known Val Kilmer movie, where he really gets to shine. He has a wide range, and his character has such a nice progressions throughout the movie. I love seeing a character change.
Graham Greene was just great! I believe he was the "token First Nations/Indigenous actor" in the 1990s, though I first saw him in The Last of Us Season 1 π€£
A story inspired by true events, it is both great to see, and so frustrating to see.
A really great movie that I was not expecting. I do love a good murder mystery!! π€©

One of the reasons I was asking is that I heard that Graham Greene (who played Walter Crowhorse) had recently passed away on September 1st. It might a fitting tribute to both of these fine actors.

Val Kilmer is also in The Missing, a great movie with Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett and it is a great western. Tommy Lee Jones is Cateβs long lost Native American father. I had my wires crossed earlier about this and another western. π€¦π»ββοΈππΌ

The parts I remembered were Graham Greene reading footprints, noting how much change the man had in his pocket, and Val Kilmer being dubbed the "Washington Redskin" after the National Football League's Washington Redskins football team in D.C. now known as the Washington Commanders. Good movie. I paid closer attention to it this time. Lots of organized cruelty. I liked your reaction and review. I noticed the same thing as you did with the subtitles. I could tell what was going to happen ahead of the scenes on screen. Thanks, Vero and whoever requested this one.

Iβm pretty sure I can recite the entire movieβs dialogue start to finish while watching it. Itβs one of those movies that hits you for some reason, and is hard to describe why you like it so much, especially considering that many have not even heard of it. My favorite Val movie though is βReal Geniusβ, a great comedy that is also another under the radar quality movie.

Greene does get the token native role but he brings a lot of depth and variety bringing out tons of different character ranges to life. One of my favorites of his is another lesser known role from the show Longmire, which gave another great native actor Zahn Maclarnen some great screen time to show his ability.
