Dead Poets Society (1989) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

The winner of our Robin Williams Patreon poll!!

Robin Williams was such a treat to watch, and also, Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard were captivating!

I love seeing actors in earlier roles, and this one is a dozen ish years before Training Day, and Ethan Hawke still played a similar character lol

I just have to say that I absolutely love actors, filmmakers, writers, and just everyone involved in making films. There are so many out there, and it fascinates me to see what stories people want to make.

I definitely need more Robin Williams in my life, so I'm looking to sneak one of his movies soon-ish!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here and watching along with me!!

I couldn't do this without you <3

It sucks that YT traffic is so important for a lot of reactions :( I wish that wasn't the case. Though I assume channels like Popcorn In Bed could do that reaction and still do really well (at least by my standards, maybe not enough views for them though haha)

Since people are talking about other Peter Weir movies, time for me to beg that you watch "Fearless" from 1993 with Jeff Bridges. (Not the action film with Jet Li by the same name.) I've recommended this to other reactors, and so far, no dice. It's probably just not famous enough to make it worth their time - I mean in regards to getting Youtube traffic. It's also a more subdued drama/character study, so maybe not as appealing as something with a lot of battles with elves and cave trolls. But if you want to watch an underrated gem with Jeff Bridges, then "Fearless."

Such a good one, Vero. ✍️ I'm sure you've been recommended these other titles containing Mr. Williams' talent, probably even by me, but here they are again. The dark-comedy/drama THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP (1982), The dark-comedy/drama/fantasy THE FISHER KING (1991), the drama/tragedy/romance/fantasy WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (1998), the drama/sci-fi/romance/artificial-intelligence/comedy BICENTENNIAL MAN (1999) and the psychological-thriller/drama ONE HOUR PHOTO (2002).

Those are definitely not movies that I've heard of before. Thanks for the recommendations!

Peter Weir did Master and Commander!! That was another amazing film. I definitely have to give his other films a look

Cheeky humour is right up my alley!! Thanks for the rec, especially since it's not in the usual "top Robin Williams films" lists :D

He was a very passionate actor, that's for sure. I didn't know he went to Julliard, but it makes sense. He has the acting chops to play anything!

That year must have been great for you! It just goes to show just how much of an effect people can have in our lives. It can shape our interests, we can discover new passions, or just help us through tough times. Would people who see this at a younger age end up being disappointed in their teachers if they're not like Robin Williams πŸ€”

Peter Weir's pre-hollywoods stuff is really worth checking out if you have the time or if we ever get there.... specifically, "Picnic at Hanging Rock" and "Last Wave" are some amazing art-house films.

Peter Weir is such a great filmmaker. And Robin Williams shines even more when when he can mix comedy and drama.

For a funny Robin Williams movie, β€œRV” is very charming! It’s not regarded as a monumental film, but wonderful cheeky humor

Definition of an epic film

People are always amazed by Robin's range as an actor; they either don't know or they forget that he trained at Juilliard. So while he was a comedian by trade, he had the acting chops to be serious when he needed to be.

Such an amzing movie, I just love it so much. I always stuggled in school, not with grades or anything, I am lucky enough that I never had a problem with grades, even without trying, but I had problems with attendance as I just didnt care for it because classes just bored me. Then one year we got a new teacher and he was quite similar to Robin Williams character and he managed to make me excited for school, or rather for his class, sadly he was only at my school for a year and after he left I again had no reason to care, and fell back into my old habits (skipping school a lot) I always wonder how my school time wouldve went if I had more teachers like him or he just couldve stayed. Anyway I am glad you enjoyed this, I think this is one of the movies anyone should see, especially at a younger age.

I hope you enjoy it! I completely agree, 10/10 all around for this movie!!

One of the all-time great movies, the script, acting, directing, and soundtrack are all 10/10. Looking forward to watching it along with you!
