Denis Villeneuve really knows how to make a beautiful movie.
I really enjoyed this one, and I like how the story continues 30 years later.
The tone was great, the characters were great (except one), and it was well executed. A shame it didn't do well at the box office for some reason :(
Ryan Gosling is an actor that I will definitely watch more, he's just so natural!
For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie. You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Forest fires are wild! When I was younger, we never got them in Canada, but now?! We basically have a forest fire season 😨 Seeing that orange glow in the air is really sobering and real. Time to stock up on some of those masks, since the air could be like that again over the next few years.

2025-04-19 13:20:11 +0000 UTCWhat was really amazing was back when the Quebec forest fires were out of control (last year??) and the smoke and ash were blown into southern Connecticut. it had the same dystopian orange glow in the air blotting out the sun. You could taste the smoke and ash each time you breathed in. It looked exactly like the outdoor Las Vegas scenes from the movie. I remember thinking how Blade Runner got that right. Thankfully that only lasted for a 2-3 days and I had some quality N95 masks leftover from Covid..
