Moneyball (2011) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Thank you so much for this reactr request!!

So many amazing scenes, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman were great!

The scene with the phone calls and the popcorn 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's truly astounding how much money is involved with sport teams, it boggles my mind. Now I need to look up how much this affected baseball trading and team building.

I am also amazed at how good Brad Pitt looks. Some people really hit the looks lottery lol

Jonah Hill plays the awkward character really well, he's completely believable.

I would greatly recommend this movie, it's so much fun and tense and heartwarming!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for your support, you are amazing!!

I couldn't do this without you <3

I know it's been a long time since this was posted, but as far as players who are not highly regarded getting a chance, let's turn to American football. Tom Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots and later the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is arguably considerred the best football player of all time. I'm not going to get on either side of that argument here, but the fact is he was picked in the 6th round of the draft, the 199th player chosen.

I'm no sports expert, but from what I've heard, sports evolve and chance over time. I don't know if the fans would stop watching the sport because it's changing, or if the most important thing is their team winning. It's a world that I don't know much about, I only know a few people who are really into sports and would still watch the games no matter what lol. I can see how a change in the way a sport is played would not be great for a lot of people though. The people in charge don't always have their fans in mind when making changes (unless it makes them more money) :(

I'm honestly bowled over by the choices. There are so many great movies that wouldn't win polls.

Yay math!!! I'm glad you liked the reaction, it really is a great movie about life and relationships. The scene where Pete is asked to practice firing someone is so stressful. I HATE firing people haha

One of my favorite films. More about life and relationships than baseball. Among other things, I thought you would enjoy the math. Glad you were delighted with the movie. It was a fun and satisfying watch. Loved your reaction!

These last two Reactr requests have been some of my absolute favorite films. I'm excited that we're getting some high caliber selections there that may not easily win a popular poll.

I’m not a real big fan of “Moneyball”. Primarily because of what it (the book AND the movie) did to the game of baseball. It put the game in the hands of mathematicians / accountants who probably never actually played the game. It boiled it down to statistics as being the only metric owners and General Managers looked at. Due to this shift, the game now relies on what’s called the “3 True Outcomes” (Home Runs, Walks, Strikeouts) when it comes to batting. Now, it’s no big deal if someone strikes out. As long as the person can hit a home run some of the time. Gone are the Sacrifice Bunts, Suicide Squeezes, etc. Even Stolen Bases are down. Even though putting that added pressure on the Defense can, and does, result in a more exciting game. It’s turned into a waiting game until someone hits a home run. Additionally, the conclusions at the end of the movie are faulty, at best. It’s true the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004. But they left out that an important member of that Red Sox team was Johnny Damon. That’s right. The guy they said wasn’t worth holding on to. Additionally, even embracing the Moneyball concept the Oakland Athletics have still not won an American League Pennant, and thus never appeared in a World Series since its adoption by the Athletics.
