TV series this year!

Hello there!!

I'm planning on watching a bunch of TV series this year, and I'm curious to know what you prefer/what your thoughts are.

Do you prefer that I have 1-2 series on the go, multiple episodes of each series every week?
Or that I have 3-4 series on the go with 1 episode of each series every week?

Here is also a brief outline of what I have planned so far for this year:

Star Wars
Andor Season 2
Mandalorian Season 1
Mandalorian Season 2
The Book of Boba Fett
Mandalorian Season 3
Ahsoka

Other (first two are in order, the rest are in no particular order, and not a guarantee)
The Queen's Gambit
The Last of Us Season 2
Shogun
Dune: Prophecy
Severance

Once I finish Star Wars (which will still take a while), I'll start another long running series. I have a few in mind, and I'm excited to see them.

What are some long running series that you think would be good for me to react to? (by long running series, I mean 3+ seasons)

I hope you're all having a great week, and thank you everyone for being a part of this community πŸ₯°

Comments

I haven't heard of 98% of TV series that aired before 1995 lol I need to figure out a way to watch more TV series while not stopping movie reactions... there are so many to watch!! 🀣

Verowak

The X Files comes to mind.πŸ€” and The Mentalist (crime, thriller, drama) . (7 seasons, 151 episodes 2008-2015) Both excellent, IMO. But I fear there are too many seasons.?? Not certain what the limit would be. I’m sure you’ve never heard of it, but China Beach was one of my favorite TV series set at an evacuation hospital base during the Vietnam war (ran weekly from 1988-1991). Never a dull moment. I’ll have to study some more on the tv series. 🧐 😊

Carol Rocha

That series is on my list to watch! Though I think they're making a fourth season, right?

Verowak

I have one Comedy -Drama show I think you should react to one day, it's called Ted Lasso. There are 3 seasons

Jeremy

Would also love to see a reaction to Twin Peaks! One of the best and most influential shows ever, and pretty topical with the recent passing of the great David Lynch, RIP.

Razor Bikini

PLEASE watch The Leftovers!!! I know it’s not the buzziest, most popular show, but it IS the Greatest Show of All Time, so I think it should be exempted from needing to pull in views. Go against the grain, throw caution to the wind, plebs be damned, and do yourself the favour of watching The Leftovers.

Razor Bikini

I'll get to Star Trek eventually!! I'll probably have a poll once I finish Star Wars to see which long running series/franchise I watch

Verowak

Oh how I wish that you were a Star Trek girl❀ nobody's perfect 😎

Ronald Dumesnil

Since you liked Fallout I would recommend Westworld. Its from the same creative minds as Fallout. Deals with what is real, what makes a person, consciousness, etc. Also a dramedy (it has drama and comedy elements)I would recommend is BoJack Horseman on Netflix. Great visual gags, writing, laughs, and very hard hitting moments.

Sir Derpington

I've seen Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones when they came out😭 I wish I hadn't lol Sadly, Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that I cannot play due to motion sickness 😒, it seems like a fantastic game though

Verowak

I definitely have not watched the vast majority of comedy series (if any) lol The Office... which is best, the UK or the USA version?

Verowak

For series 3+ - Breaking Bad Dexter Ozark Game of Thrones This one cause you like gaming - CyberPunk Edge Runners And play cyberpunk 2077 if you haven't yet.

Horoldo

Not sure what you have/haven't watched, but I haven't seen many comedy series in the list of recommendations or the channel. The Office Parks and Rec The Good Place

Andrew Sitek

omg, Fringe would be amazing

Ootlander

Arrow may have started out that way, but, yeah, it eventually expanded into its own shared universe. And just a random-thought PS, tack "Smallville", the DCAU*, and "The Americans" onto the suggestion list. *The DC Animated Universe (DCAU) includes: * Batman: The Animated Series * The New Batman Adventures** * Superman: The Animated Series * Justice League * Justice League Unlimited * Static Shock * Batman Beyond * The Zeta Project ** The New Batman Adventures is more or less just a continuation of B:TAS, with updated animation designs and a new title.

Tim Heron

I would prefer 1-2 TV shows at a time. I tend to prefer the movie reactions to the TV reactions, and 1-2 TV shows at a time seems like it would leave more time for movie reactions. 😁 For Shogun, are we talking about the 1980 TV mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain or the 2024 series? Both are excellent, though I would probably slightly prefer the new one.... As for shows to watch, I'd nominate Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV series, *not* the movie), Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 remake, *not* the 1978 original), Reacher (the TV series, although the movies are OK, just underwhelming), Justified or Doctor Who (the 2005 reboot series, although the original series from the 60's is OK).

Chris Gronau

Whaaaaat! Just one episode, I've seen the whole series twice. I even played the game for N64. Oh man you missing out. oh keep this a secret I really would love for Hannah and Toy from Run To The Movies to watch XENA: Warrior Princess. Because just like Gabrielle & XENA Hannah and Toy's souls were destined to be together. Yes you heard correctly I believe Hannah & Toy are lovers. LOL!

Christopher Palmer

I like your SW watch list. I have no Interest in any on the "other" watch list. Committing to a long running show can risk either you getting something that you are less enthusiastic about, or something that patreons aren't interested in watching. Shows that you might consider: "From the Earth to the Moon" (1 season, 12 eps) "Reacher" (2022, 3 seasons, 24 eps total) "Alien Nation" (1989, 1 season, 22 eps + 5x made-for-TV movies in place of 2nd season) begins after the movie "Alien Nation" (1988) "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." (1993, 1 season, 27 eps) action-comedy w/ Bruce Campbell "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" (1992, 28 eps total) I would rather see you watch the original 1980 "Shogun" 5-ep miniseries with Richard Chamberlain & Toshiro Mifune before the new remake. What do you mean by "long running": "Bosch" (7 seasons, 68 eps total) "Bosch Legacy" (2 season spin-off, 20 eps so far) 3rd season in production for a truly long running watch, but with built-in change-ups for variety: The Marvel/Netflix "Street-Level Heroes" series' in season release order. They are like the MCU in that the story jumps from one titled show to another leading up to a group cross-over, rather than just running through all the seasons of one show back-to back (13 eps per season, rated TV-MA for violence and _very_ non-child friendly topics): "Daredevil" S1 "Jessica Jones" S1 DD S2 "Luke Cage" S1 "Iron Fist" S1 "The Defenders" mini-serires "The Punisher" S1 JJ S2 LC S2 IF S2 (10 eps) DD S3 P S2 JJ S3 "Daredevil Born Again" S1 currently being released (Mar 2025).

JAKH

So many that I've never heard of, thanks for the list! I forgot about Xena and have always been curious to watch it. I think I may have seen one episode when I was younger lol

Verowak

I've heard fantastic things about Ozark! That's one that isn't mentioned super often

Verowak

I haven't seen Battlestar Galactica, only heard the name and deduced that it's sci-fi because of "battlestar" 🀣

Verowak

For series: Fringe , OZARK and Stranger Things

Tom M

7th Heaven, Full House, Growing Pains, The Cosby Show, The Sopranos Family Ties, All In The Family, Different Strokes, Hercules: The Legendary Journey's, XENA: Warrior Princess, ER, Greys Anatomy, Quantum Leap, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, JAG, Grimm, Revenge, Empire, The Golden Girls, Hot In Cleveland, Cheers, Frasier, The Game, Touched By An Angel, All of these TV Series are more then 3 seasons long I promise you.

Christopher Palmer

I have noticed. Really sorry about the back. I'm just a silly american who wants everything right now, how ridiculous, I grovel in mortification:) I really hope you back gets better.

Scott Howard

There's a reason why a lot of reactors react to the same series, because it grows the channel. If you can work the same amount of hours but you have the option of earning what you make now, or making 2 or 3 times more, it makes sense to go for the higher income. That's sadly a big part of it. There are a lot of things that affect the growth of a channel, and the movie/tv series choices are a big part of it.

Verowak

For long-running series...Battlestar Galactica (if you haven't already seen it, the early 2000's version), and Succession!

Steven Griffin

Everyone has a different system. The fun part is figuring out what works best :)

Verowak

Well, in case you haven't noticed, I've been having back issues for a big part of the year, so that limits how much I can record. Also, we are only 3 months into the year.

Verowak

Awesome, that's what I've been aiming for for the last year 🀩

Verowak

I tried to put together a diversified list of good quality series. Many reactors react to the same TV series and that can become a bit repetitive and boring. I tried to give you a mix of a few semi-popular reaction series and some to which few or no reactors are reacting. Though they are subjective by nature, good quality and entertainment value are what I tried to shoot for. Let's get some fresh content out there.

thebeefmaster

I'm a regional manager for a large public library system, so mine aren't alphabetized by title, or I would never find them. They're alphabetical by language, then arranged by genre, then director/lead actor, then chronological. It's the only way I can remember where things are. :)

Shawn Goforth

1 star wars show and 1 non star wars show each week. Plus movies. I think that's the best way to keep everybody happy.

Ashley

You should do Stranger Things. I think it would go good on this channel. It interesting that you are doing Shogun. Is that the one with Richard Chamberlain?. I read the book or books or something like that and it was very. I think I watched at least part of that mini series. I don't think I was as much into the series as I was into book or books or whatever it was. Another good option would be to do Lonesome Dove, I thought you were going to do westerns this year, what happened to that man.

Scott Howard

Ah yeah, that can be a big deal breaker, having to get multiple streaming services. I love that you have such a big collection! My aunt used to have a room dedicated to VHS, it was really nicely organized

Verowak

The cast and character building in that show .. brings a tear to the eye. My favorite show ever.

Barry Hammock

lol, its far from that.. its a really underrated series. but i would really love to see Rome or battlestar galactica, some of the best TV ever made

Ron A

I know there is an audience for them. I've just found it harder to participate in watch-alongs for TV series without subscribing to every streaming service out there. For movies, I just have to pop it in the player and queue it up (but I'm also a physical media person). At last count, the blu-ray/4k collection was around 1,150.

Shawn Goforth

Oh that's really interesting, I'm glad you mentioned that. I'll definitely be aiming to do 2 movie reactions a week, and see how that goes.

Verowak

Thanks for the list! There's a lot that I haven't heard of, and just 1 that I've seen; House! Such an amazing show, though I mostly remember the first three seasons, I don't remember the main story for the rest of the seasons

Verowak

"Person of Interest" is of great interest to this person 🀣🀩 Mostly because Michael Emerson is in it

Verowak

I have seen "The Expanse" and read most of the books. I want to do a rewatch of the series because I don't remember most of it (I mostly remember the seventh book which hasn't been adapted), I just have to figure out if I try that as a reaction or not

Verowak

I've heard of a handful of those! Though "Hell on Wheels" sounds like a cooking show for some reason 🀣

Verowak

I didn't know there was an Arrowverse, I just knew of "Arrow" and thought it was a solo series πŸ˜…

Verowak

2 series at a time is easier to keep up with plus movie reactions

George Roybal

I never watch TV reactions (or most of the shows for that matter), so my vote would have to be for the fewer series with 1-2.

Shawn Goforth

1-2 .. too much more is too much more ;) Only suggestion I have, no one ever likes LOL .. Person of Interest

Barry Hammock

1-2 series at a time would be best. And if you have not seen "The Expanse" yet...ohhh buddy!

Anthony Peutz

1-2 series at a time

Jeff Marshall

Great series: Rome - Historical, greatest Tv ever made, only 2 seasons Battlestar galactica (great scifi series, i think its six seasons) Deadwood - western, 3 seasons Invincible - adult gory superhero animated, 3 seasons (ongoing) Justified - Crime, thriller, action, modern western Spartacus - history, action Seinfeld - classic comedy, 9 seasons Always sunny in philadelphia - great comedy Community - Funny AF, 5 seasons Archer - Comedy/spy spoof animated 11 seasons? The Shield - Gritty scrime/police 7 seasons Sopranos - Mafia Hell on wheels - Great Western series, 6 seasons (2010) Grimm - Fantasy, fairytale, crime, 6 seasons these are just some of the few that came to me at the moment, i would watch your reaction to all of these.

Ron A

I've seen a few episodes of Gilmore Girls when I was younger and liked them. I also didn't know there were 7 seasons, wow! And the reboot too.

Verowak

They need to hurry up and make more!! 🀣

Verowak

Designated Survivor (Netflix, 3 seasons) 24 (8 seasons, TV movie, two one-season spin-offs) And if you're up for it, the Arrowverse: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning

Tim Heron

1-2... Gilmore Girls! Seven seasons and a Netflix reboot of 4 movies!!!

fire12wife
