Animated movies have such fun and hilarious characters. That's what I love about them, these are things that live action movies just can't do (like Maximus or Pascal!)
I'm also a sucker for magic and magical powers, so this movie is right up my alley.
I'm always amazed when characters are despicable, it really frustrates me, but it's so satisfying to see their demise ๐
For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie. You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

I would love to, she did the same some years later with "Soul" and it is another great Pixar movie I really came to love...๐ But at the moment she's yet at this age where it's totally not cool to be seen with adults, I hope she grows out of it soon...๐

I want to read the Grimm version of the stories, they seem right up my alley ๐ I would also love to know who thought of that character, it's a comedic aspect that I was not expecting but thoroughly enjoyed!! Do you still go see movies with your (now older) niece? It could be nice to go see something together!! Who knows, maybe you'll find another movie that you didn't expect to enjoy!!

2025-03-03 20:05:37 +0000 UTCpretty much when you pay them (YT), they let you download to your device. I just tried my mini PC which has unused space. Previously I would download to my phone. You can zoom in on the phone for a nice closeup while watching the movie elsewhere like on laptop ๐

2025-03-01 00:01:21 +0000 UTCInitially, when this movie came out I brushed it off as just another disney kids movie, but my then 6 year old niece kept begging me to go and see it with her and I am eternally thankful to her for it. We went and watched it on the biggest available screen and in 3d. You have no idea how beautiful the lanterns-sequence looked in three dimensions. ๐คฉ This was a really good take on the pretty dark and grim version of the Grimm brothers tale I grew up with. It was funny, heartfelt, old-fashioned disney musical style in the best way. The horse Maximus was absolutely fantastic, hats off to whoever thought of this character. This horse is the special element that turns a good movie into a great movie. If I remember correctly it was a great success for Disney. The big budgets for animation movies of this quality stems mainly from the huge amount of computing power in the render farms, where hundreds of computers process the animation data over months. Then you have dozens of animators often working for weeks or again months on one scene or character or a special effect. With todays computing power they could make that movie in this quality probably for a significantly smaller amount of money. Then again today they would add more details and effects and it would get as expansive as the first one again, but even better looking...๐ค๐ Glad you liked it. For me this was a flashback to the wonderful days when our (now almost grown-up) niece came to visit us and we did things like that everytime...๐
