Deepwater Horizon (2016) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Thank you to our Marble winner for this one!

The infamous BP oil spill. I should have put two and two together that this being based on true events and it being an oil rig would be about the BP oil spill. What an absolute horror show.

I've seen my fair share of people higher up that have decided to cut corners and put people's lives in danger. It's so infuriating that people do that.

I always hear a lot of people say that Mark Wahlberg isn't a good actor, but I think he did just fine. These movies are good for me since I have low blood pressure... they help raise it a bit 🀣

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

I couldn't do this without you <3

Thanks for the recs, I'm very curious about Mark Wahlberg's true story movies now

Thanks for those, that was amazing to watch! Seeing the actors/stunt doubles get thrown around looks so intense, especially Mr. Jimmy's shower scene. He just got slammed into that shelf!

I didn't know there was a movie made about the Boston Marathon bombing! Thanks for that rec

Verowak

The buildup to the explosion was quite stressful! I always say, the smartest actors are the ones who managed to make a very good living off of playing the same character πŸ˜…

Other good modern true stories to consider: "Sully" (2016) Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart. Directed by Clint Eastwood "Captain Phillips" (2013) Tom Hanks

A couple good fiction movies with Mark Wahlberg: Detective/police drama: "The Corruptor" (1999) w/ Chow Yun Fat Action Comedy: "The Other Guys" (2010) Heist: "The Italian Job" (2003 remake) Comedy: "Renaissance Man" (1994) w/ Danny DeVito

Mark Wahlberg really has an interest in portraying true stories about blue collar guys. Two more of them were also with Peter Berg, the same director as "Deepwater Horizon": "Lone Survivor" (2013) and "Patriots Day" (2016) good to watch April 15 Mark Wahlberg is from Boston, so "Patriots Day" was a special project for him. If you do Crossfit, the "Murph" Hero WoD honors Navy Lt. Michael Murphy's actions portrayed by Taylor Kirsch in "Lone Survivor" "Pain & Gain" (2013) is by director Michael Bay The composer for "Deepwater Horizon", Steve Jablonsky, also did the music for "Lone Survivor" and "Pain & Gain" Trent Reznor of the band Nine Inch Nails did the music for "Patriots Day" James Horner did the music for "The Perfect Storm" (2000)

Vero, now that you’ve watch this movie PLEASE do a watch of β€œPatriot’s Day”. It’s another movie with Mark Wahlberg and the same director about the Boston Marathon bombings. It is really tense and even though we already know what happens and how it ends they made it so good. Please consider it for a future watch.

I enjoyed this one, it was very well made and had some very intense scenes! As for the Mark Wahlberg hate.. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that he was a bit of a scumbag in his younger years and because of that just flat out call him a bad actor... like he's not someone with a wide range, but he does what he's hired to do just fine.
