The Pacific - Part Eight | FULL LENGTH REACTION

I got major Speirs vibes from John Basilone. It really felt like he was just running all over the place and taking charge.

Honestly, it's so nice to see people have moments of happiness. I think the fact that I rarely watch romance, it's really quite sweet to see a relationship develop.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

I honestly didn't know there were so many war movies. I keep hearing of new movies to add to my ever growing list ๐Ÿ˜The Midway movies are up on that list. Thanks for all this info !

Happiness is a choice but PTSD/ Depression etc is very real. I live it every day. Joe died on Guadalcanal (He left nearly ALL of himself there) because of how the family and general public treated him. They made him feel so alone and isolated that not even is his beautiful new bride (That he gave the last part of himself too) would not stop him from deploying again to an actual war. I get Joe though while he was training. No spoilers but Sam Elliot does it well in a movie you said you where watching this month. When I went to police academy the younger cadets thought I was I an instructor. One of them said it was the self-confidence, and giving off the wtf are going to do to me get lost vibe that made the yougins think that! HA

The mention in the opening credits it's based on memoirs of a few marines, I want say who for spoiler sake but it's as accurate as can be like BoB with some necessary adjustments for filmmaking sake but for most part, things happened as is. There is a limited scope to this show focusing primarily on the 1st marine division but there is a lot more pacific wise. The midway movies cover a lot of the early naval aspect, "Unbroken" is another great one that focuses on other stories, "the great raid" is one of the few that covers the Philippines which the japanase decided was to be the major effort to resist the allies and unfortunately just doesnt get much coverage. Older movies cover the theater more so than recent. "PT 109" is a great hidden gem that centers around a future president, as well as "they were expendable" that kinda shows the fall of the phillipeans and the role of PT boats stemming the tide while the navy recovers. Yeah D day H hour are planing placeholders.
