Jaws (1975) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

I finally watched this masterpiece!!

This movie feels so refreshing, and is just oh so fantastic!!

The shark is really well done, especially for 1975. The story is captivating, the characters are believable, and we get a nice bonding scene 🀩

I have to say, Spielberg is really an amazing director (I know, I'm late to the party lol)

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for your support, I couldn't do this without you πŸ₯°

All three named films are excellent Spielberg choices and very different from each other. The latter is a thrilling adaptation of a Philip K. Dick novella and one of my favorites.

Hahaha!! Any excuse to not take a bath as a kid πŸ˜‰

Hahaha sometimes we can prepare for things but when it jumps out at us our instincts kick in. At least you learned to not be in headbutting range of her 🀣

Interestingly I keep hearing about Schindler's List, but never knew it was a Spielberg movie. Same with Minority Report! Thanks for the fun fact, I love hearing about small cameos like that

I do love how they are remastering movies and showing them in theatres/IMAX. I'm sure a lot of people that haven't seen it or heard of it got to experience it on the big screen for the first time

The premise is simple, but it's so well done. I'm still amazed it was made in 1975

If ever a shark shows up in the tub... we know we're going to need a bigger tub!

This is my favorite Jaws clip, The one JAKH posted was good too. https://youtu.be/uzr5-kn9mW4

I didn't get to watch Jaws until it came on cable later, but we spent summers at the beach in the 70s with my mom's side of the family. Just seeing the cover to the book that my aunt had, and listening to my older cousins made me not even want to get in the bathtub as a 7 year old! LOL

Not a shark story per se but in the late 1970s my girlfriend (at the time) and went to Universal Studios and took their tram tour. We saw one version of the house from Hitchcock's "Psycho" and one of the cars that Peter Falk drove in "Columbo". The tour had a mechanical shark replica from "Jaws" that would launch out of the water toward the tram. We were warned ahead of the shark attack as the tour guide stopped the vehicle at the water's edge. I said to my girlfriend, "Remember... it's a mechanical shark so don't panic." She replied, "Okay, okay." I held onto her shoulders to steady her as she held her camera. When the shark launched out of the water my girlfriend screamed and backed so suddenly that she head-butted me in the nose. Moral of the story: it's tough to beat practical effects for realism, lol. Another early Spielberg that I'll watch from time to time is his TV movie, "Duel". It's a fun watch with an actor I remember from an old TV series. Somewhere in the movie he does a simple stunt himself that could have been dangerous.

Fun fact. The movie is based on the novel "Jaws". The author, Peter Benchley, has a small cameo in this movie. He plays the TV reporter reporting from the beach just before the third shark attack. As for Steven Spielberg's best movie, it would obviously have to be Schindler's List. His movie that I would most like to watch again, however, would probably be Bridge of Spies, with Minority Report a close second.

Was so fortunate to have seen this movie in its remastered IMAX format a couple years ago, and it was incredible; almost like a brand new movie, especially after only ever seeing it on the small screen (albeit many times). Am hoping they will do another IMAX screening next year for it’s 50th Anniversary!

This is the first time I've watched Jaws, Verowak. Enjoyed watching along with you. Not afraid of the water. I never venture it beyond the tub though.
