The Pacific - Part Two * FULL LENGTH REACTION

I have a feeling this series will be very combat heavy!

It honestly feels so hopeless all the time, they seem stuck and really not doing so well. Especially with all the reinforcements and supplies not reaching them.

I am definitely having a much harder time keeping track of who is who in this series compared to Band of Brothers, so I'm sure that I'll need to watch this a second time to really grasp everything that each one is doing.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

It's definitely best that you don't spend any more money on me.

I am giving you Grace before I spend any more money on you if I decide to reup in Dec.. One as an adult as to understand how we got from Point A to Point B right? All of these things are within LIVING memory. Things not covered in the show so no spoilers. The IJN savaged the US Navy in the battle of Savo Island. There are many more battles not covered as well. This is the story of a few people among millions. Their perceptions what they felt at the time. But it carries on for all the others to give them a voice. Same as band of Brothers. Easy company was 1 only 27 companies' bare bones in the 101st. And that is just 1 division among 25+. Look up the 2nd (not the 1st) Canadian Army. Why does need to be a 2nd ?hmmmm? All of this is within living memory. As for as Japan acting suicidal. Yeah, it was a thing. It was why the A bombs were used to try and shock them to give up. (Other reasons as well) I do not understand the confusion that you show. I was expecting more of how this changes people for a reaction etc. Rather just then it was brutal. Duh. Of course it is. Idk. I am the crazy one. Carry On.

Think back to BoB and the breaking point episode with Foy or the 3rd episode with Carentan. They shelled the town but at a certain point, to take a position, a frontal assault is inevitable although as a whole Japanese, Chinese and Russian armies, had no problem literally throwing bodies into a battle and overwhelm in numbers. You'd mentioned the mentality of leaving them there, for the first several months of the war that was the only option. Places like wake island, they dumped planes and men on the island to try an reinforce but after PH they didn't have the resources to keep a supply chain. Same thing with Phillipines. That part of the war has already happened so won't be any spoilers but just some FYI research and background some research there would be interesting. Even an old John Wayne movie covers it rather well, "they were expendable". Here the navy just got hammered and had to regroup and reenforce and that takes time over a large ocean not to mention just building the forces needed to continue. Especially considering at the conclusion of guadalcanal the US invaded French North Africa so resources were split among the two theaters with US putting most their focus on Europe.
