Rebels 1x01 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Here we go!!

It's time for a new series (for me)!! This is available to all TV series tier and up, I hope you enjoy the journey.

Please remember to not say any spoilers (this includes other Star Wars media that characters are in that I haven't seen).

It's a good start to the series and I'm looking forward to getting to know more about these characters 🤩

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Rebels 1x01 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hello There, Vero! I'm back and oh my, I have a lot of stuff to catch up on. I didn't forget about you!

Garren Haskell

I clearly assumed completely wrong as to when this series takes place, and I'm glad for it. I remember Hera being a kid, so I didn't expect her to be grown up in this lol. I would much rather go in not knowing something than have been told beforehand!

Verowak

Wait, that's the same Hera?! I mean, it makes sense but she's much older now! I felt like I had heard of her, but didn't know if it was from other people talking about Rebels, but clearly that's not the only reason lol The animation does look very watered down. I know some series go through a watered down animation style at some point, so I just assumed that was the reason. But budget being restricted makes a lot of sense. As for the light hearted tone, I didn't read too much of your paragraph since I don't want to know, but I'm just waiting and hoping that it gets darker and less light hearted, similarly to how Clone Wars changed over time lol. I'm also aware that my not caring for Ezra is similar to how I wasn't a big fan of Ahsoka when she was first introduced. I do think it takes a bit for the character to really get fleshed out, so I will be patient and hope that I end up liking Ezra more as the show goes on 😁. I think I just really want a dark and gritty Star Wars animated series 😅 I went back to the Bad Batch to see who the padawan that escaped was, but his name is Caleb. I remembered it being a "k" sound and since Kanan is similar, I was getting confused. I'm really looking forward to knowing more about all the characters, especially since they grew up/where alive during the Clone Wars and that obviously affected most if not all of them.

Hera and Chopper you saw in Bad Batch when they were on Ryloth. Hera was the kid with the thick French accent who had the dreams of flying in space and tag-teamed with Omega trying to fly a ship during that mini-arc.

And we're here at last haha welcome to Rebels. I guess I should get a couple obvious things outta the way that you probably noticed right off the bat 😂 so hopefully this'll be helpful to know going forward: (it's more just the background of the show) First off you've probably noticed the Animation/Art style is a bit different than previous animated Star Wars you've seen and that comes down to basically Budget. At the time this was made the animation studio weren't given enough to produce clone wars level animation within the tighter deadlines they now had so unfortunately they had to go with a style that was cheaper & quicker to produce, the reason their budget was cut was because pretty much this was made during the time the Sequel Trilogy & Solo/Rogue one were all in production so the animation studio got the short end of the stick unfortunately, but like clone wars it does improve vastly over seasons it just might take some getting used to especially coming off of the heights of the Recent BB Season 3 & tales of Empire that it's reached today 😂 Another thing is probably the tone which feels a bit more lighthearted and occasionally a little goofy at times, at least right now. Because Disney+ wasn't a thing this was of course Aired to TV which explains the commercial cut you noticed 😂 Clone wars which was also before Disney+ aired on Cartoon Network and that network was quite loose with regulations which is how it got away with so much on a supposed "kids channel" 😂 but now with this show because they had the Disney Banner over them they weren't allowed to use that same one for some reason so their only option at the time was "Disney XD" which had "guidelines" so that kinda explains the shift in tone as they had to actually make sure it was viewable for a slightly younger demographic this time (I don't know quite what ages Disney XD primarily catered towards) so this may not be as violent or explicit and gruesome as past animated shows, it still has plenty of stuff like death and explores some mature themes and heavy topics and such lol, just not quite the level CW/BB were like no Heads explicitly being chopped off if that gives you an idea 😂 Of course that doesn't mean it'll always be goofy it's not alienating and it can still be enjoyed by an older audience, if you remember CW it had some pretty goofy episodes in it's beginning so this show kinda follows a similar pattern to that where it starts off this way and slowly matures a bit overtime, it still has plenty heavy & emotional or sometimes even darkish moments especially in later seasons they're just a bit less casual about it and it's a bit more balanced, I'd say Season one might be where you struggle in some bits because it is the lighter and sometimes goofy side of the show which I guess is understandable since it's the first season but there's still plenty of good moments and heart & charm to a lot of it. But anyway Rebels! haha, right now this is set about 5 years before the original trilogy where Luke & Leia would be about 15, this is also kinda around the same timeframe as Andor, maybe even just after and so that kinda makes it 13-14 ish years after the Events of Bad Batch, so this is sort of in a time before the Rebel alliance has properly formed and come together and so far is just a bunch of splinter cells throughout the galaxy, this first season of the show might seem a bit slow & small scaled but that's mainly because it's more of an Entry-level season so it kind of takes it time especially because it's got new characters to introduce & set up and get you familiar with and plot threads to slowly establish so there might be a couple episodes here & there you probably won't be the biggest fan of (just from having a bit of an idea of what you like/don't like but who knows you might find charm in them lol) but yeah don't worry it'll really get going the further you get into it and a lot of stuff in this season still has payoff and is important to know. Speaking of new Characters technically you've already met half of the main characters already because of the order you've gone in 🤣 if this was release order they'd all be new but because you've watched a bunch of stuff that released after this you'll definitely already be familiar with a lot of things in this show 😂 Of course you had Mr Grand Inquisitor as the Villain at the start, I'm not sure if you Remember Hera Syndulla & Chopper who were the centre of the two Ryloth episodes in Bad Batch and Omega befriended but this is them! and she's a main character in this, seems her Dream of Flying came true 😂 "Kanan" as he calls himself now you have also met before, a couple times now I'll add 😶 but I leave it at that 😂 and let you try figure out lol (unless someone else says it 😂 but wouldn't really say it's a spoiler at this point so that shouldn't matter too much either way) Sabine & Zeb are new characters that you'll learn a lot about though and of course Street-Rat Ezra Bridger (or Space Aladdin as the fandom nicknamed him 😂 all he's missing is a musical number) who is our Main Protagonist at the minute (just going off your first impressions on him at the end) he might take a bit of growing on and patience for you early on lol, I'm definitely aware he can be a little overbearing to some at times in the first season so you might have to try your best with him from time to time early on because at the moment the way he is is kinda important for his growth 😅, not too dissimilar from Ahsoka in her first CW season, so like any main character they'll grow & learn with time & development and as you get to know him & all these other characters you'll find out more about them why they're the way they are. But anyways I guess we'll see how it all goes! 😁
