The Acolyte 1x04 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

We're getting there...

Progressing through the story and getting a bit more of a feel for everything. It does feel like not much happens each episode, but at the same time, the episodes are shorter than what I'm used to. I am used to either having 20 minute episodes or 45 minute episodes. This weird 30 min ish episode feels weird.

It always seems like we're leading to somewhere, then the episode ends. Like this one... I think next episode should be pretty great!

Also.. I did NOT recognize Ki-Adi-Mundi. Then again, my usual assumption (unless we see Yoda) is that it is probably a relative. I thought Master Plo Koon was there, but it's quite possible it's a relative of some kind since there should be more than 1 of each race 🤣

I know that the Sith would typically win in a one on one fight versus a regular Jedi, but it always seems like the Jedi are weak when they get defeated. So far, all the Jedi that have been killed have seen below average in terms of skill and/or intelligence 😅

I'm really curious for next episode so we hopefully learn more about the "Master" 🤩

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

The Acolyte 1x04 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

The writer of the episode was on Twitter saying this and the next episode were written as one episode but they were told to split them up, so i guess that's a good cliffhanger to split it on. For things like that and my gripes with Obi-Wan clearly being a movie they had to add fluff to, I don't blame the creatives. It's usually pretty clear when execs get involved and say there's a specific quota of time or episodes or whatever that they need to meet and those can definitely impact the actual product, which it obviously did in this episode.

Your outro and others comments absolutely confirm I’m not a proper Star Wars fan because I have no idea who you’re all talking about 😁

I like your positive view of it, it’s refreshing to see. I wish I shared it though. I find the dialogue to be pretty bad in places, but not unwatchable, just poorly written. I wish I was more impassioned to either love the show or hate it, but it’s just meh. I hope you get a satisfying resolution to the story.

James Hadden

I thought filler episodes were a thing of the past when they had around 24 to fill a season, but I guess I was wrong. They should have just made a two hour movie.

James Hadden

I don't think the dialogue necessarily is the problem, it's pretty consistent with other recent Star Wars media. One thing I enjoy about this show is that it's consistent with its themes. Jedi hesitating to kill an unarmed opponent was the subject matter in the first scene of the show, and it's still present in this most recent episode. I like that The Acolyte seems to have a subject matter that it's going to see through.

Thanks for the clarification! We can always count on the big baddies to make things more interesting 🤣

I'm going to wait until the end of the season to see where they go. Maybe there is an explanation?

This show keeps getting worst every episode, Ki-Adi-Mundi ain’t even supposed to be alive yet in this era. In The Phantom Menace he clearly states that the Sith have been extinct for a millennia. So he either lies to the council about having met a Sith in this time or the masked bad guy is supposed to not be a Sith then?

King_Panarisi

So for clarification purposes, that was a younger Ki-Adi-Mundi, played by Derek Arnold this time instead of Silas Carson. And the female Kel Dor we saw (Plo Koon's species) is named Ithia Paan. I do agree with many others that the pacing for this episode is pretty weird. Hopefully with the Sith here, the second half of this series will pick up.
