It does seem like the Jedi of this time are weaker than what I would have expected. Then again, it's possible that they are just regular Jedi and not Obi-Wan/Yoda/Anakin caliber. That makes a huge difference, since we've seen how some Jedi aren't exceptional.
I do want to ask you all... is there any material from around this time that I can read? Novels, comics, whatever.
I'm hoping that this series finds its footing. There has been some attempts at humour, but it fell flat to me 🤣
I will say that I do like the Padawan! She's definitely the best character we've seen so far.
I think the fight scenes have a bit of a "superhero" feel to them. It's hard to explain, but there are certain poses/pauses in the fights that stand out to me (especially after having taken a Stage Combat workshop 🤣)
I'm hoping the villains win in this series (whoever the ultimate baddies are)

2024-06-11 10:15:45 +0000 UTCEwan McGregor is the only reason I kept watching the series after the first episode 🤣 (especially with the Leia running scene). But then Vader, Tala and NED B (the droid) were there and they helped make it better.

2024-06-10 21:06:55 +0000 UTCYou bring up a very good point... not having a character that is straight up irritation from the start!! That can really ruin a strong series start, and I feel like a lot of times there is one character that is made to be the goofy one.

2024-06-10 21:03:52 +0000 UTCUrgh. Ryan George (Pitch Meeting) will be spoiled for choice inserting his famous line in this series. I do like the fight choreography, although never feels like it’s going anywhere, but that’s due to the plot not the choreographer. I assume two Jedi cannot force hold a person against their will, just push them back or hold them up? I like to understand how techie stuff works so can someone explain the door hacking device? Throwing the device straight onto the outer plate just saves Mae some money and me some of my life, does it not? It’s been a while since I watched it, but thinking back I have a feeling Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan is the only reason I enjoyed that show. This is lacking that draw for me, but it’s not so bad I won’t continue to see where it leads.

2024-06-09 16:41:06 +0000 UTCTo further your point about fight scenes, I actually am enjoying the hand-to-hand combat stuff. It’s cool to see how capable Jedi can fight without their lightsabers and I think the choreography and directing is done well enough considering we don’t really see much of that kind of fighting in Star Wars. As for characters, I think they are overall fine so far. If anything, I am just happy that we do not have any characters who are straight up irritating from the start, because usually that’s how it goes when introduced to a new ensemble of characters.
