Give me your movies for the next poll!

Hello there everyone! 👋

The way that this will work, is that everyone can suggest movies in the comments (please limit your suggestions to maximum 2 movies, and only 1 suggestion PER COMMENT. Failure to follow these rules will disqualify the comment(s)).

The 5 comments with the most likes will be put into a poll (either on Patreon or YouTube). So please like the comments of the movies that you want to see.

This is a bit of a different format, and I'm curious to see how it'll go. I'll be checking the likes in a couple of weeks to create the poll.

If you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to ask 😊

Comments

World War Z (2013) Brad Pitt. PG13 not real gory like your normal zombie movie, but a great movie I think you will love!

Anthony Donato

Sadly I've seen it 😭 but I do recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet!

Verowak

Evan S

Ah yes, I've had that recommended before though I thought it was a standalone movie. Turns out it's not lol

Verowak

The classic rock soundtrack is a nice surprise!!

Verowak

How to Train Your Dragon (2010). Amazing trilogy, but just suggesting the first one with this comment.

Thelaeleas

Megamind (2010) - a fun Dreamworks animated superhero-ish movie, with a great classic rock soundtrack

Evan S

Holy cow, childhood-me says both of these are such great movies. Adulthood-me says you have every single one of my votes.

Richard Flores

Ethan Hawke and a whole lot of really great character actors that you will recognize but not know their names.

Wesley Allison

Well, that last sentence I think is quite self-contradicting. I think watching Unbreakable first just gives a little bit of supplementary treat, but does not hinder the value of the actual movie. But I feel like discussing more detail would just basically be spoiling both movies at this point.

Matt Peralta

I've seen the first 5 or 10 minutes of this movie. I remember being at a friend's house and we started watching it but lost power. We didnt have time to continue it before having to return it, and never rented it again lol

Verowak

This is the first time I hear of this movie!

Contact (1997): So, I said under the Forrest Gump reaction that "Contact" came out in the same 90's period when Robert Zemeckis was working with cinematographer Don Burgess. As a result, the movies all have a very similar feel. I think watching "Contact" with that in mind could add an extra layer of interest. (You already watched "Cast Away" for the channel, which is part of this group.)

I disagree with the above. You really do have to watch UNBREAKABLE first to get the full impact of SPLIT. Unfortunately, by flat-out saying this, it also kind of ruins some of the effect. You're supposed to go into Split (a) having seen Unbreakable. (b) Not knowing you're *supposed* to have seen Unbreakable.

Unbreakable (2000): Hopefully you haven't seen this one already. This was a movie that I was actually pretty indifferent to when it came out. (The pacing is insanely deliberate and ponderous.) But over time, I've grown to appreciate it more and more. It really helps it that in the years since, a lot of movies have had similar subject matter, but none of them approached it in such a distinct way. (Yes, the less one knows about the premise going into it, the better.) Edit: I see above there's a debate about if one needs to watch this movie first before seeing another particular movie. In my opinion, yes, you definitely do need to see this before seeing that other movie first. Unfortunately, knowing this fact will lessen the impact of that second movie. Ideally, Vero would've seen Unbreakable first. Then sometime later, would've watched that other movie with no idea that the two were related. (This would mimic how people actually experienced that other movie when it was released in theaters.)

Snow Falling on Cedars. Definitely in my top 10. Deep historical drama and one of the most heart-aching love stories.

Wesley Allison

Moon (2009)

Richard Flores

Doctor Sleep (2019) to cap off both the book and the movie The Shining.

Richard Flores

Spaceballs To continue the Mel Brooks adventure 😊

Louis

Yeah i guess you are right Spilt and Ubreakable can be watched in any order but they are both worth a watch tho.

King_Panarisi

Anniversary of real events coming up on 28 June

JAKH

The order goes Unbreakable, Split, Glass. However, Split can be watched as a stand alone, watching Unbreakable first is definitely not mandatory. It was not even advertised as being related to Unbreakable.

Matt Peralta

Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995)

OrangeLion

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

OrangeLion

I thought the third one was the one where Unbreakable and Split were needed to be seen first. I was told that I can watch Split or Unbreakable first, it didn't matter 🤔

Verowak

Vero will have to watch unbreakable first then right?

King_Panarisi

The Big Lebowski (1998) from the Coen brothers, who wrote and directed True Grit, also starring Jeff Bridges. I remember you really enjoyed the dialogue in that movie so I’d love to see you watch more of their films.

“Split” (2017)

No worries! Just makes it so I can tell which movie is winning, since if someone puts an amazing movie and "Star Wars Christmas Special" in the same one, it would mean I get to choose one, and I do sometimes like to troll 😁

Verowak

Don't forget to like the comment with the suggestion 😀

Verowak

Definitely like the comments that you want, since the ones with the most will be put into a poll
