Arcane 1x02 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

This series is not wasting any time, I love it!

I am so damn curious to know what will happen. I love seeing the different storylines and a huge bonus.. there's MAGIC!

I feel like Vi is making a huge mistake, and it feels like Powder is super reliant on her and should NOT be separated from her :(

I also absolutely love Vander, he's so great to the kids, and really trying to help Vi get through all her anger and desire to fight.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Yes! And the different storylines are so well done and shown. It doesn't feel like they're rushing one storyline to focus on another one, they are all developing at a good pace. There is no wasted time, every scene contributes to the story.

Just by 2 episodes, I can see how you can love this series! The stakes are high, the characters are all so great, and so many things can and will go wrong! It's not a cookie cutter story lol The fact that the characters have flaws but also so many great qualities about them (not all of them, of course) is just amazing. It's also great that we'll get to see all the different sides, and it'll be neat to see who teams up with who. I'm glad that there is magic, though having played the game a couple of times, magic has to be present lol It has a steampunk/magical vibe which is a nice combination!

I'm always amazed at how many narrative threads they're able to include in a single episode throughout this series. Even though they are around 40 mins, it is jam packed with something new jumping back and forth between different storylines, never felt like this show had any bad filler whatsoever.

Disclaimer: Everything in here is spoiler-free. πŸ™‚ You have no idea how happy it makes me that the show got you line, hook and sinker already...😍 So now all characters are set on the board, the game is afoot. Or, to stay within my rollercoaster analogy, your close to the top and you know what happens to a rollercoaster that reaches the top...πŸ™ˆ You're spot on about the relationship Vi and Vander have. He sees lots of himself in her (as do we), but also the potential to handle things better than him. Thats why he is so invested in teaching her that everything you do has consequences, especially when people look up to you (Mylo, Claggor) or depend on you (Powder). And this show is so good in visual storytelling. The details, oh the myriads of tiny little details in everything. For example, when Vander and Vi talk on the bridge and Vi learns that Vander is really down because he can't find a solution to their problems, you see Vis face in close-up and see her anger rise. Then she glances at the pictures at the memorial and remembers THAT day at the bridge (she hears the distant echo of the screams and the thunder of the guns in her head). Now she looks sad. Her expression then changes from sad to determination and you see in her eyes the thought forming: "Hey, I got us into all this and I have to take the fall." That is really great art to show all this in ten seconds with an animated face. This short moment tells us more than an endless rambling voice-over. πŸ’– Jayce was desperate to research the use of magic, because it deeply impressed him what good you could do with it. The mage saved his and his mothers life and since then his only goal was to recreate this wonder. Since he is from "a lower house", he needed patrons who funded his education and his studies. This purpose was taken away from him and his patrons threw him out, so he felt like he had nothing to live for anymore. A bit melodramatic, but he is passionate. Viktor and him team indeed up as two young idealistic scientists that try to change the world for the better. The council has another wonderful moment of character building: The present from Mel Medarda (the beautiful councillor) to the old bearded councillors birthday. She gives him a childs toy - she cleary has no high opinion of his intelligence - and flatters him with the remark "it is built only for the sharpest of minds." This strengthens his infatuation with her and caters to his ego, so he will always tend to decide in her favor in the council, what gives her practically two votes. (As can be seen later when they voted on Jayces sentence). She had clearly wrapped him around her little finger. The fact that he not only did not recognize the childs toy as such, but isn't able to solve it, tells us that he indeed isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. And that again tells me, the council seats are probably inheritable (see also the "lower house" comment of Jayces mom.) and not achieved by merits. And it tells me Mel is a top tier politician who can read (and therefore manipulate) her fellow councillors pretty good. All this you can read out of this short scene, that is how you introduce characters... 😍 It says a lot about this world that no one seems to be worried that an eleven-year-old is tinkering with nail bombs and smoke grenades. Instead she's encouraged to go on with it. πŸ€”πŸ˜¨ Last but not least, listen closely to the songs in every episode. Every single one is written and produced for the show. They give you further context or set the mood or comment on what we've seen. 🀩 I love your reaction to my favorite TV-Show ever and it drives me crazy that I hve to wait another week to see the next one...πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ
