I'm really glad to see John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) in a different role! This felt like an Armageddon type movie, but slightly different, and in all honesty, the entire adventure of the families on Earth could have been skipped. I also found it very weird how randomly Brian gave his son a gun. It felt completely out of the blue, but was clearly needed for future events.
Strange that this movie is made by the same person who made Stargate.

You are welcome 😁 I do think good actors can just have the misfortune of being in bad projects, which obviously makes it seem like they are not good. Fargo is a series that I need to watch since I've seen so many people mention and recommend it. Glad to know I'll get to see Patrick Wilson in something better!

2024-04-18 13:04:59 +0000 UTCThis was an incredibly stupid movie. I remember my dad watched this a while back and insisted that it was worth watching despite not technically being good. I’m not sure I would go that far, but I can’t say I didn’t have fun. And I definitely wouldn’t have watched it if it weren’t for your reaction so… thanks? I guess? Also I will say despite this film (and Aquaman 2), I would consider myself a Patrick Wilson fan. The problem is he’s not in many good projects. I would however recommend the second season of Fargo and his guest star appearance in an episode of Girls as highlights in his filmography.

Someone mentioned Momoa being from GoT; I do understand becoming invested in an actor. […and, funny coincidence: having trouble sleeping last night; I put ‘Midway’ on and there was Patrick Wilson😹]

2024-04-05 19:30:16 +0000 UTCI loved Jason Momoa in a serious role (Khal Drogo), but don't care for him being comedic. I don't care for most actors being comedic now that I think of it 😂. I went into Aquaman 2 expecting it to be bad so I knew what I was signing up for lol

2024-04-05 14:25:31 +0000 UTC🙀 I think we’re soulmates. The man has all the appeal of soggy toast. I couldn’t bring myself to watch Aquaman 2. I’m not a fan of Jason Momoa either—he’s a great human being if the Hollywood press can be believed (an animal lover😻), but really. One dimensional—I get that he’s a hunk, but the whole biker image just doesn’t work for me. Completely took me out of ‘Dune’ (as someone who read the book decades ago). Strange choice. [Off topic: Watch ‘Once were Warriors’. No need to do a reaction, but I’d like your opinion on Jake Heke vs. Jango Fett or Tom Curry.]

I realize that I'm way more critical when I watch a movie the second time. So thankfully I won't be watching this one a second time to really get to dislike it 🤣

2024-04-03 20:35:37 +0000 UTCBought this based on Roland Emmerich’s ‘2012’, a silly big budget disaster movie (see IMDB for the cast) which I’ve watched many times when I just wanted some mindless entertainment. Major disappointment with this one. Halle Berry as head of NASA🙄. Seriously, so bad I can’t even call it mindless. It does have some good CGI (and a fluffy cat) but nothing you haven’t seen elsewhere. I only hope your commentary will make a rewatch palatable.
