Rush Hour (1998) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

It's time for Jackie Chan!!  This is the movie that I know Jackie Chan from, but it turns out he's done a lot more (as you'll see with a soon to be uploaded reaction to a Producer Pick).

Speaking of which, the Producer picks that haven't been posted on Patreon for Feb yet will be done in the coming week.  Life got busy and I wholeheartedly blame school for that 🤣

I love the fight choreography in this movie and having seen some Jackie Chan bloopers years ago, it does seem like a lot of what he does is comedic.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Rush Hour (1998) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Correct, "The Peacemaker" (1997) is completely unrelated to DC, John Cena, or any comic books.

JAKH

Quite a few that I want to watch already. I saw "The Peacemaker" and thought "Peacemaker", which I assume are very different stories and characters 🤣

Verowak

The one good thing about watching it so late, is that I don't have to wait so long for Season 2 😂

Verowak

I do enjoy seeing musicals and the dance choreography! I need to plan a month of black and white movies I think

Now that you mention it, it's a very straightforward movie! It's really nice to have watch those sometimes, no crazy twist or things to figure out lol

Verowak

Oh and did I mention I can't wait for you to watch "Arcane"?😅 When you will have started it, don't be surprised if your angry at yourself that you didn't watch it sooner... just sayin'...😅🙈😂 No seriously, I'm happy your planning to watch it at all and will wait for it patiently...🙂

If you are looking for great old black and white movies, I highly recommend "Singin' in the rain", a 10/10 musical with fantastic songs, dance choreographies (almost like beautiful stunts) and yes, actual stunts. 😄 The story hovers around the change from silent movies to talking pictures. It is charming, funny and so adorable, old Hollywood magic at its best...😊🤩

One of the things I love about this movie is there is never really a bad time to watch it. (at least my opinion). Like it’s so straightforward and enjoyable from start to finish and I enjoy it just the same every time. I was actually unaware of those original casting choices. I don’t think this movie would be as adored as they are now had any other duo been casted. I am just to throw some titles out there: “Shanghai noon” (2000) - to see Jackie Chan in another buddy cup type of film “Ong Bak” (2003) - a Thai action film starring an actor who was heavily inspired by Chan, and established his own unique style of stunt movement

It's an amazing Mish mash of a movie. Hong Kong action that takes place in New York but very obviously filmed in Vancouver.

James Bond, now that's a franchise I want to tackle at some point! I will say, keep an eye out for next month, one of the movies you mentioned will be there!! 🤩 I know the name Buster Keaton, but that's about it. I do want to tackle some older movies, notably some black and white ones. I'm always impressed with martial arts, so Jet Li movies will have to be watched :D Thank you for the recommendations!

Verowak

That's one I haven't heard of

Verowak

Oh perfect!! Movies need to have extras at the end imo

Verowak

Every Jackie Chan movie has bloopers at the end usually.

Ashley

Every Jackie Chan movie has awesome stunts. One of my favorites is "Rumble in the Bronx"

Ashley

What movie has great stunts? Hmm, a big question to ask. There are so many. There's of course the MI franchise, James Bond, the "Bourne" movies, "John Wick" of course, "Mad Max: Fury Road", the probably best action movie of the last 30 years or so, and the more you get back, the more are to come. Many old Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin or Harold Loyd movies have great stunts. The Terminator franchise, especially part 2, pretty much everything Jackie Chan ever made up until "The Foreigner", his (in my eyes) last really good movie. There are so many more if you wander through the decades. And I am not even talking about the great action movies of the european or asian cinema, where you had several actors who were famous for doing their own stunts. If you like martial arts more serious, Donnie Yen or Jet Li come to mind. I could probably fill this page with an endless list of recommendations, but I leave that for others. And now on with the reaction. 🤩
