Clue (1985)* FULL LENGTH REACTION

Thank you to our Marble Winner OrangeLion for choosing this movie!!

I finally know what the board game is like! 🤣

I knew it was a murder mystery, but didn't think it would be so fun 🔪🔫🔧

It was nice to finally see Tim Curry in something (aside from voicing Palpatine at the end of Clone Wars), we got to see Doc Brown, and a young Chuck McGill!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Perry Mason was an old tv show that aired between 1958-1966 and it starred Raymond Burr as the titular character. Perry Mason is a defense attorney who is extremely good at his job. He is assisted by his personal secretary, Della Street( played outstandingly by Barbara Hale) and a private detective named Paul Drake( played by William Hopper). This is one of my mother’s favorite shows.

The whole cast of that movie is stacked with stars. Here is the cast Eileen Brennan, Truman Capote( in an extremely rare acting role) , James Coco, Peter Falk( famous for the Colombo tv series), Alec Guinness, who was filming this movie when he read the script for Star Wars, Elsa Lanchester( famous as the Bride of Frankenstein), David Niven( a star of the highest order), Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith, Nancy Walker( she is famous as the sassy housekeeper in the show McMillian & Wife which stars Rock Hudson and Susan St. James , and Estelle Winwood( who is 101 years old in this movie and was her final one)

I've only heard of Alec Guinness in that lineup, due to him being Obi-Wan :D Murder by Death sounds fun though

Another good comedy murder mystery film is Murder by Death. It has Peter Sellers, Peter Falk and Alec Guinness and other actors some people won't know.

Jeff Barnes

I am very curious about Only Murders in the Building, I'll have to find a way to watch it soon lol

I second the nomination for "Knives Out." It perfectly fits the bill of a more serious murder mystery, while still having a little bit of comedy. Another suggestion: I mentioned the HULU series "Only Murders in the Building" once before. It's not as air-tight as "Knives Out," but you might like it. It's a murder mystery, and it co-stars comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short along with Selena Gomez. You could try it out for a season to see if you like it. (Only 10 episodes, about half an hour each, so not a huge commitment.) It's also a fairly successful show, so you could get decent Youtube views with it.

Ah yes, Knives Out and the Onion one (sequel?) are some I want to see! I love how there are so many details from the game incorporated into the movie. It seems like a proper adaptation :D

A more serious (but also with some comedy) murder mystery movie that’s very popular is Knives Out. More details from the board game that were in the movie, if you’re not familiar with it: there are 6 player characters and each has a pawn whose color matches the character name: Miss Scarlet. Col Mustard. Mrs White. Mr Green. Prof Plum. Mrs Peacock. The rooms on the ground floor of the movie are the rooms on the game board. The 6 weapons are the same. You gather clues thru the game and when you think you know it, you guess who did it, in what room and with which weapon, just like Mr Green said at the end “Mr Green, in the Hall, with the Revolver”.
