Seven (1995)* FULL LENGTH REACTION

This is the way that we end the year.  With this wholesome movie πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚

This won the YouTube poll I had put up earlier in December, though it's been requested MANY times before.

The more I watch thrillers, the more I love the genre.  It's so fun watching the characters figure things out!!

Really a great movie, and Morgan Freeman is so... Morgan Freeman.  It feels like most of his characters are the wise, calm and collected type.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Seven (1995)* FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

That just means there is plenty of new reactions to see! :D

Found out how behind I am when this popped up on YT. I will get there eventually. I do remember seeing/hearing about the 7 deadly sins from the trailer when it came out. It was enough to make me want to see it.

Billy Dancel

"Pelham 1-2-3" is a heist movie w/ John Travolta & James Gandolfini "Glory" also has Morgan Freeman

I am so happy you're watching "Arcane" for the channel, but also a tiny bit sad that it still is so far away... but mostly I am very happy! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»β˜ΊοΈ You should consider though to leave some time between the two seasons, you will likely need to come up for air and watch something more lighthearted before you dive in again...πŸ€”πŸ˜… Again, thx for the good news, I am one happy patron right now! πŸ˜„ Regarding a Brad Pitt poll, I'm all for it, but I'm guessing 12 Monkeys will have no chance, since it isn't mainstream-y enough...πŸ€”πŸ™‚

Man on Fire, The Equalizer and Training Day are on my "Denzel" list and after seeing all the YT comments, I've added "Fallen" to that list lol. The rest I haven't really heard about so they'll have to wait :D

Verowak

I didn't think of it, but you're so right, the villain wins!! I appreciate it when that happens. I haven't seen 12 Monkeys, just heard the name a bunch of times. It seems like I'll need to make a Brad Pitt movie poll this year since he has so many good ones! Arcane will be for the channel, and it will be this year. I think the second season is coming out at the end of November, so I may try to line it up so I finish just before the second season starts.

For a detective role, this isn't Morgan Freeman's best. I would recommend his Alex Cross movies: "Kiss The Girls" (1997) "Along Came A Spider" (2001)

JAKH

I know that a lot of people like "Training Day", but I don't think that it is that great compared to Denzel Washington's other work. My recommendations would be: "Man on Fire" (2004 remake) "The Equalizer" (2014) based on a 1980's TV show "The Equalizer 2" (2018) "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3" (2009 remake) "Fallen" (1998) Denzel's dark movie a few years after "Se7en" came out. Good for October. "Glory" (1989) true story set in the ACW "Much Ado About Nothing" (1993) Shakespeare's play w/ Kenneth Brannaugh & Emma Thompson

JAKH

The movie "Zodiac" (2007) has a reference to the movie "Dirty Harry" (1971) in it. You probably want to watch "Dirty Harry" first in order to understand that scene.

JAKH

When I first saw the movie, the ending shocked me so much, I didn't watch similar dark movies for a while. It was very impressive, never before had a thriller been made this dark and sinister, even let the villain win. The explicit design of the corpses alone, not to talk about the perfect jump scare with the drug dealer. It made everyone jump and scream, because of the incredibly effective build up to this moment. We weren't used to see this in mainstream movies. πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ After the success of this movie a flood of copycat movies followed the years after, no one as nearly as good as this one. For Brad Pitt this movie was a milestone of his career. With "Se7en" and "12 Monkeys" a year later he convinced everyone that he was more than just another mildly talented pretty boy, as they come by the dozen in Hollywood. He hade left his first marks with "Thelma & Louise", "Interview With A Vampire" and "Legends Of The Fall", but these two movies put him into Hollywoods A-List. While "Fight Club" may be his most famous role, Det. Mills was probably his most important. πŸ€”πŸ™‚ Fun fact: He actually broke his arm and the story had to be altered to fit his injury in. By the way, in case you haven't seen "12 Monkeys", you definitely should, it is a great and very unique movie starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. πŸ™‚ Last but not least: Did you come around to watch "Arcane"? If not, make yourself the best (channel-related) birthday present and watch it, at least for yourself. (Still hoping for the channel though...πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…)

Christmas is in like 360 days 😏And plus, there was a box opening, which is what we do at Christmas 🀣

Verowak

Completely understandable. A more light hearted movie is coming up later!

Verowak

This wasn't very Christmassy.

Bucky1138

This movie disturbs me so much that can’t even watch your reaction. Very well done flick but nope.

I wish I had some better news for you, but I've checked a couple viewing services and they definitely do not have commentary options available on them. Which seems like a crime. You might be right that its only on physical copies.

Richard Flores

Yeah, I've learned to explain why I say things like "that was a joy". The movie experience was amazing, what happened and the killing, obviously not 🀣 Are commentary tracks readily available? I've always thought those are only on DVD/special edition, though it would make sense that it could be available on YouTube πŸ€”

Verowak

Okay, my plans today just changed. [Post-watch edit] I have to agree with you when you first said "That was a joy". For me, its the process. How the movie was made. Just so many extremely talented people succeeding in so many ways. Like how just an exterior shot of a guy in a car in the rain and it is more gorgeous than it has any right to be. I do hope you watch it again, and still find reasons to keep loving this movie. I would recommend that at some point you listen to the commentary tracks. Like on one of them, the sound design guys have isolated the audio and I didn't think I'd have patience for that, but it ended up being just so fascinating hearing them talk about why sound decisions were made. Its wild just how well this movie is put together. And anyways, Happy Holidays, and Happy Birthday!
