Clone Wars Episode 604 (113) *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Fives has ALL THE INFORMATION!!!

Dammit Shaak Ti!  She is on my list of "Jedi I don't like" along with Yoda and Mace Windu.  There are others, but I don't know their names (namely the ones that were against Ahsoka last season).

Anakin seems to always be the one that has to deal with "renegade" Jedi/clones.

"Each day we grow closer and closer to victory"  That line is just so infuriating!!! It seems like Yoda may be doubting things, but it's too little too late, and he would never do anything about it anyways.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

I'm curious if next arc will be even more frustrating somehow 😂

SO frustrating! "Omg I have something extremely important to tell you, and it will change how we see everything. You have to believe me, it will change the course of our future and your children's future too, we just have to hurry before they find out that we know. If they find out, it'll be too late and everyone will die." Even just planting the idea in their heads "Palpatine is a Sith Lord and put chips in our heads", or ANYTHING useful lol If ever I write a story and it gets to a point like that, the person will just say it asap! Like "The Chancellor is" then boom, he gets killed, would have been way better, imo.

Nooo he did the thing where the character spends all their time talking but not actually saying anything helpful at all "you have to listen to me, I'm not crazy, I have the evidence, I can explain, it's a conspiracy" etc. Just friggin say it! "We all have mind control chips that will make us kill the jedi" Boom, easy, done! Grrrrrrr 😤😤😤 haha "I don't know how anyone can like Yoda" got a big ol' laugh out of me by the way 😂

Biggsy

A Clone kills a Jedi, and Anakin sees it Clone: "The Chancellor told me to do it, the Jedi was corrupt" Anakin: "Makes sense, the Chancellor is a good man and is very wise"

If I had more time, I would try to make some "What If" comics or something lol

Verowak

Definitely another Arc that needs a "What If" haha

And with that, the last Domino falls. It's definitely a sign of good writing when we can get invested in a character and hope for them to change an outcome that we ultimately know cannot be changed, with these events taking place before Revenge of the Sith. I like that this answers the question of why the clone army would willingly kill the jedi after seeing what kind of relationship they had throughout this war. It's just another thing that will make your eventual rewatch of the movie a much different experience. Also, about the clone squad shooting Fives: those clones are the of the battalion called the Coruscant Guard, who don't serve any particular jedi general, but rather serve under the chancellor directly. And so their orders were to kill the target, because you know that the chancellor is not wanting to take any chances. It was also frustrating to see how just like with Ahsoka, Anakin wanted to help Fives and get to the root of the issue, until he mentioned the chancellor, is one thing that Anakin cannot be convinced about.

We also have all the information, whereas the Jedi don't get to see the mastermind at play. That's one thing that is easy to forget. I wonder what it would be like if someone edited all the Clone Wars episodes so we only see the events from the Jedi perspective. So all the extra information that we have, is later divulged. I do understand them not putting all the pieces together, it's just so frustrating to see everything play out 😂 Everyone thinks they are doing the right thing (Star Wars and real life), but if we saw everything at play, it would probably change our opinion and how we acted. I love how Clone Wars is written because we get to be so angry at what is happening since we know what Palpatine and the Separatists are doing. But it's a great sign of good writing, imo, if I can get invested in characters and hope they do something, when I KNOW how things end. Like when I was watching episode 3, I was rooting for Anakin to be good, but I already know he becomes Vader, so he goes to the Dark Side.

Verowak

I know, right?! Fives 😭

Verowak

There's just so much anger!!!

Yep frustration is definitely warranted and understandable. Vero, you and I both want sequences and events to be different, but the specifics may not be the same. If what you wanted to happen during these and most other “stupid Jedi” episodes occurred, then Palpatine’s plotting would likely have been thwarted, then it would’ve been a situation of the Jedi realizing the dangers early and us seeing a much better showdown/throw down of the Jedi attempting to overcome the Dark side. I’ve always wanted the Prequels and Clone Wars to make the deception of the Jedi, downfall of the Republic, and apostate turn of Anakin Skywalker all continue to take place, but to be shown as far more believable and not so easily contrived. We’re both always yelling at the screen going “UMM THE ANSWERS ARE RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU, MORONS!”. Ah well, so it will all play out as is, and there’s nothing we can do about it but wish for “alternate universe” Star Wars. All the Jedi are dumb/useless (yes even Obi-Wan), thus the ones that survive become humbled and somewhat broken later, having to have learned from their egregious mistakes and lack of action.

RIP Domino Squad.
