oh i hope you go on a whole patrick swazye journey lol "to wong foo with love" is EXCELLENT as is "the outsiders" which is funny since zay mentioned him looking like a greaser lol those two movies are some of my favorites of his, hopefully someday you can watch them

2025-06-15 04:54:33 +0000 UTCThis has become one of my comfort movies even though it took me decades to watch it this movie was so big when it came out that it was annoying to the point that I didn’t want to watch it. “ nobody puts baby in the corner“ is from this along with the many dance parodies. This has been remade multiple times but the remakes are not anywhere near the original.

Good ear the first song in the movie is by the same singer that sang the title song in Grease. Resorts like this were very big up until the 1970s in the Catskills north of NYC. They catered to an upper middle class Jewish clientele. This movie was actually shot in 2 different states because they couldn’t find a resort still standing that had everything they needed. The chemistry between the leads was good acting. They had previously shot the action movie Red Dawn (I don’t recommend it) and didn’t like each other from the experience on that movie so filming this was a bit rough. Patrick is also famous for Ghost and as a greaser in The Outsiders (good call Zay). Jennifer also was in Ferris Bueller. The parents were actually Broadway stars before this after this the dad is most famous for law and order and as Lumiere in the animated beauty and the beast. The mom became famous on Gilmore Girls.
