Action, comedy, and drama. Now to bring that theme up a few decades, how about the Bruce Willis space action comedy, "The Fifth Element". Also, a very hot, sexy Milla Jovovich co-stars in this one. - George (gen81465)

02 more things. You guys were talking at the end about the adultery and all that which probably seems odd to modern audiences such as yourself… Keep in mind. This was 1970 and movies previous to this had been very clean cut, much more innocent, much more squeaky clean… It was really coming into the gritty 1970s that we really started to experience and see much more adult themes thrown into movies that I think that’s why you sort of see the Mello drama in this. Thank you such as adultery and, her pregnancy out of wedlock, and other themes were very new to people, seeing them on the big screen at this time and nudity and adult language and stuff all became much more prevalent in the 70s. Where is it really hadn’t been allowed in films before that. A little bit in the 60s, but, the Hayes code and strict guidelines on what you could and couldn’t see in films was all breaking down, and movies were becoming more and more realistic, but this was really just at the early stage of that. Another point might be that this came from a very popular novel at the time and the novel novel was also very melodramatic. I remember reading it years ago, but I think the film of “Airport” followed the book pretty much as far as characters and drama. Anyway, love watching you guys. And it’s really cool and refreshing to see people younger like you guys giving these movies a chance because they truly were the big movies of the day back then. In fact, I believe “Airport” was at the time the number one movie of all time ever made by Universal Studios. It made so much money that it kicked off three sequels as well as an entire decorative disaster films. People just couldn’t get enough of that although they started to faze out towards the end of the 70s. Like any movie trend it comes hits really hard and then eventually people get tired of it. The disaster films seem to kick in about every 20 years because after the 70s, the 90s saw another resurgence of disaster films with Titanic, Dante’s Peak, Armageddon and another endless trend of disaster films. I think they’re so popular because the average person tries to imagine, what would I do in those situations. We all see these things happen on the news and on TV, but this film sort of let us wonder who will survive and who will make it to the end of the film. Sort of like horror films in a way… Anyway, hope you guys continue to have fun and do some more. I would say the most important ones after airport are, “The Poseidon Adventure,” “The Towering Inferno” and “Earthquake.” (by the way in 1974 when earthquake was shown in theaters around the world each theater would be equipped with something called sense around, which was these huge speakers in the front of the theater that released a low and rumble that would actually sort of vibrate the theaters when the film was shown. Pretty cool. I saw that one three times in the theater he he he
