I was living in Minnesota when this was filmed. Usually there is a lot of snow during the winter. However during the filming of this film there as less snow than usual. Much of the snow is manmade. The same thing happened when the movie "Fargo" was filmed. Much of the snow in that film was manmade too.

I forgot to mention, this was filmed at Minneapolis International Airport and TWA was going to be the Airline in the movie by providing the airplane and uniforms. Then, they saw the script and the "bomb" and TWA backed out and they had to change the name of the airport to Lincoln. They also made the fictional airport be in Chicago. The more you know... 🤣🤣

Thank you for my Christmas present, Jonathan!! My all time favorite movie. Well, Boys I watched my worn down copy right along with you guys. What a blast! So, Captain Vern's wife was Mel's sister! Engines back then were extremely loud and there was a lot of picketing at airports that were near neighborhoods. Dean Martin (Captian Vern) his son was a fighter pilot and was killed when he accidentally flew into a mountain. The Trans Global manager in real life had a sad ending. Look her up. They did use a real Boeing 707. N324T which was a Flying Tigers Airline jet that was being leased to EL AL Israeli airlines. Years later while operating for a South American carrier, crashed into the side of a mountain. Zay, not only have I had passengers snap their fingers at I've had passenger tug on my skirt hem, poke my butt, pat my butt, poke my waist, yelled "Hey you", grab my arm, you name it. We're in a tight space but people can be very Handsy. I've been flying since 1998. I've seen a lot, done at lot, forgot most of it, and did it all again. To answer your question Cam, yes lots of fooling around between pilots and flight attendants. Also, lots of marriages and kids. Lots of drama. Lots of gossiping. Some close calls and minor emergencies. Drifting an aircraft is top level. That scene was always really cool. The gorgeous blonde stewardess in the back with Ruth was a real life stewardess that won a contest to be in the movie and helped with the realism. Sadly, though, she said the cast wasn't that friendly since she wasn't a big actress. The next 3 movies are independent sequals and aren't related to each other. I only like this one and Airport 75' (the next one) the last two were horrible! Welp, I'm a BonBon member now. Thanks for watching and reviewing and again, Thanks Jonathan!

Dean Martin was Verne the captain. He is equally famous as a singer and I don’t think you have seen anything of his on the channel. I agree with your issues with pacing. Because disaster movies weren’t really a thing this was pitched as a day in a life in the airport with the bomb being just one subplot. Since this movie did so well future movies in this genre, and this franchise have bigger budgets, and can make the disasters more central while still not losing the character building. The second airport movie is probably the one most referenced. There was stuff from the entire franchise, all chopped up in Airplane A little old lady was meant to mainly be comic relief . The part was increased when they got a screen legend to play the part. That actress was one of the first big movie stars in the 1930s. She won an Oscar for this role. And yes, the stethoscopes were supposed to be noise, canceling headphones. Adultery plots were a pretty standard thing for drama in films and TV in that era. I’m currently watching an older television series about four couples and by the end of season one I think everybody was cheating on everybody
