I remember reading the book before seeing the film and the film is a memorable representation. The book is told from Chief Bromden's point of view. Obviously you can't bring all the nuance to a film and some of the stories are adjusted, but I was engaged with the characters. Rewatching it again, I especially felt sympathy for Charlie Cheswick. He just wanted to be included and accepted. The actor did a marvelous job.

2025-03-30 15:17:52 +0000 UTCNurse Ratched is considered one of the best movie villains of all time, the actress herself was actually a very nice lady I have heard, but made her career the rest of her life playing villain roles. Netflix made a prequel series to this movie from the people who did American horror story and the Jeffrey Dahmer show. I haven’t watched the whole thing but I might give it a watch after this.
