Great job guys. This musical means a lot to me. As I said in my message to you, the creator of it died before the first show on Broadway so he never got to see the fruits of his labor. I think one thing I would add to your thoughts is the aspect of chosen family. As a gay man from a religious family, the importance of people in your life who accept you for who you are, is crucial to survival (especially when I was coming out 24 years ago). This film shows this type of dynamic in such a beautiful way. The original broadway show was performed like an opera in that all the dialogue was sung (even the answering machine messages) and it became known as a rock opera. All of the cast except for Rosario and the girl who plays Joanne were the original cast of the Broadway show. I think that helped the emotional connections in the movie feel very real. Again, thanks for what you do!

Most of the cast except Rosario and Tracey who played Joanne had starred in the broadway show 20 years earlier. The broadway version is longer and is all songs with almost no dialog. Even after hearing it hundreds of times Over the Moon makes little sense to me either. I’m glad you had so much fun with this but still got the point.
