Cam, you said you didn't understand it fully, but I feel like you did. There were three characters that were offered a chance at redemption for past bad deeds. Julius and Butch took that offer and escaped, Vincent didn't and was killed for it. That's something I never picked up on until it was explained to me after I'd seen it half a dozen times. I just thought it was a fune shoot'em up when I saw this in the theatre as a dumb 15 year old. I'm curious what you guys thought of the liberal use of the N word, which was controversial at the time. Unlike Django Unchained, where it fit the story, here it feels extremely gratuitous, especially the Tarantino monologue. At the time, I thought it was "daring" and cool or whatever, but it doesn't right with me now. I wish that monologue wasn't there.
