When the restaurant opened up the food was addictive like drugs and turned a good area a bad area riddled with junkies, crime and homelessness. And since it was now a bad area, it lowered the property value, which resulted in Ed wuncler buying the park he was trying to for years Ed opened the soul food restaurant knowing that it would lower the value of the park so he could and buy it at a bargain the whole episode was a metaphor for how crack did the black community crack made good areas filled with addicts,crime and homeless and lowered the value of the property making it cheaper for people like ed to buy it gentrify it like forcing Robert to leave a property he owned
