This was a fun reaction. I know it’s been awhile since you watched it but I thought I’d drop a little bit of trivia from the manga. The reason Rudy learned magic so easily is because he already has a strong concept of science and physics from our world and he applies that to his visual imagery he uses for magic. For example, when Roxy cast a saint level water spell to create a storm for Rudy’s graduation, she said the words and visualized a storm in its entirety as one single thing, and her storm lasted like 10-20 minutes. When Rudy created the storm, he did it with the understanding of how air currents and temperature and water density combine to create a storm, and he cast his spell in a way that created a natural storm that fueled itself, lasting a couple hours. When Rudy cast magic, he uses the fundamentals of science to visualize his spells, which is one of his greatest advantages in combat. He isn’t well versed in biology so that’s why he struggles with healing spells and has to say the incantations for them, and that’s why he got fucked by the dragon god, because his lungs were crushed and he couldn’t speak in order to heal himself, all he had left was offense.
