A two-way funeral makes perfect sense. It's exactly the kind of thing you would find in a science fiction story; if you live in a time when cryo-preservation has become common, of course we'd develop rituals and ceremonies around it. And why not? As was said here, if you're being frozen for 80 years, you're effectively dead for every person you ever knew, and they'll be dead when you wake up. It makes sense to have a ceremonial goodbye. I feel that the human psyche really needs these milestones and socially recognized events to mark transitions. A boy doesn't really become a man in a single moment, but cultures around the world have rites that move them into a new role. The new year isn't any different than the old year, but we mark its passing as a way of collectively noting the passage of time and the opportunity for change. So yeah, I'm totally on board with the new funerary practices.

I literally had rainout in my CPAP this morning. I woke up with water being shot in my face and up my nose!
