2023-05-05 11:55:18 +0000 UTCWell as I understood it from the light novels, it could be considered rape depending on definitions.. It wasn't exactly as Lilia was in a good position to consent. Regardless; after some much worse stuff happened to Lilia when she was working her first maid-job in the royal court she was actually grateful to have had that one time with Paul. Also; both her for getting her maid job with them and when she was seducing him, she held the deflowering-act as a trumph card to blackmail Paul with if necessary. Paul is still scum, but it is not *as* bad as the anime portrays it as.. ^^; Also polygamy is the norm, at least for nobles, in the country they live in, and as Paul says: Greyrats have it in their blood (whatever that means).

2022-09-01 06:09:22 +0000 UTCalright so the anime got this wrong. He didn't "assault" her. Paul being the goofball that he is was the normal teenager who did stupid stuff in school. What happen that night was he was sneaking around the girls dorm at night and went to Lilia's room surprised her while she was sleeping (Breaking and Entering). Afterwards when she wakes up they had consensual sex in which she lost her virginity. They were caught in the act and he was chased away out the dorm because it was against dojo rules. Which is why there is no ill-will between them and why she chose to become his maid. She's had feelings for paul for a long time. Paul is a lot of things but a rapist just ain't one of em. Its never mentioned or implied ever in the LN

They moved on and glossed over the assault thing cuz it was in the past and now Lilia is fine in the present but gosh... what a scummy guy. He is a hatable character at this point. No level of swordsmanship skills can save his character.
