2025-07-17 05:32:11 +0000 UTCAndrew’s plane jumping idea reminded me of a time I rode a train in Colorado. There’s a train ride everyone knows about from Durango to Silverton. What a lot of people don’t know about is that same steam engine ride also does an almost 8 hour round trip way the fuck up into those mountains. A woman with full backpacking gear got on the train in Durango, rode it for 4 hours into the most remote mountain wilderness I’ve ever seen, and just…got off (???). She got off, waved to the conductor, and hiked straight into the woods. It was like top 5 most insane shit I’ve ever seen. You could say she definitely had her “parachute license” because you could tell she knew what she was doing but damn.
