Defend Myself Again // GTA Series Mondays? [36]

I thought you guys kept saying "Bovril folder" & I just kept picturing a folder will bovril in it & it sounded terrible lol

Mary Heppeard

So I'm all for more content, and I love the gameplay videos, especially gta, but I do think that gameplay is my least favorite form of supplemental content, and I hope that time spent recording gameplay isn't taking away from recording drafts, live action videos and other things that show up on RSS feeds. I prefer the content you guys make that I can listen to overall.

Emmanuel J Ross Hartway

Probably the thing I miss most from AH was GTA Monday. To me, when those stopped, that was the beginning of the end. It had become part of my out ritual (I older kids who introduced ME to these videos) to watch them together over dinner. The idea of seeing new ones makes me happy. We'd definitely vote yes to GTA Monday - and whatever you do until you are sick of it is a gift.

Tom Haynes

I watch all of your content on YouTube happily. Please do GTA Mondays I would love it. I’m in Masters school and it is nice to come home and zone out and laugh to a video from you guys

Kels

So long as you guys are having fun, we’re having fun. AH stuff got old because they started to hate having to play the same thing continuously.

Merjia

I don't think you could send out Regulation Buttons to everyone, it'd have to be digital. A Regulation App.

RegulationKiwi

First of all: I would love to see some kind of draft of the idea document! Or some kind of voting system where you have to rank and agree to what is "the best idea". Secondly: We (my partner and I) are here for you guys and the fun you have together. So if GTA is what makes you laugh and enjoy time together, then we're in. If it is something else - then we're in. I think GTA is a great platform for shenanigans, which is also why it works so well. But that's just the medium that delivers us your craziness. What we like least, and sometimes bow out of watching, is when there is only two of you. Apart from that the sentence "there a new regulation" brings us together eager to watch! (The pod we listen separately but greatly enjoy discussing the shit you've been up too!)

Mikaela J

The name is pissboy, isn't it.

pappi D gamer

New comment leaver here. For me, it’s the most fun when I can tell yall are having fun… whatever yall are enjoying is what I want to watch. Hope that helps!

Levi Perkins

All of your content is part of my weekly routine. An hour of GTA on Mondays sounds great.

Austin Kear

Dexter season 1 and 4 were really good. I don’t remember 2 and 3 very well.

Joe

Never mind GTA, when are we getting the Regulation Feud sequel that you guys spoiled a while back? 🤣

Tom Morris

I never feel an obligation to watch y’all’s content cuz I’m just genuinely excited to watch it. Like it’s something I want to do, not that I have to do. I am so down for gta Mondays, and when yall get tired of it, something else or taking a break. I’m here to watch yall have fun 💜

Vanth

So we just letting the whole Sarah Michelle Gellar thing go? I'm fine with it if we are, just seems like something we should jump on HARD

Joshua Downey

I didn't get to watch the first Dexter series when it aired cuz I was a little to young but I will say that I am a person whom is watching the og series for the first time although I knew a lot about it going in

david

Totally pulled an Andrew here. I relistened to the episode and realized the first time I had stopped listening right after Gavin mentions Bog Roll Folders and completely missed him saying it could have been about folders and scrunchers 💀

Jonathan69_420

I would absolutely love an old timey “prequel” podcast done live and using sound tech from the 40’s/50’s. Doesn’t matter if it’s scripted or not, as long as it ends with a ridiculous cliffhanger so we have to “tune in next time” to see if our heros survive!!

Jimmy C

I’m all for yall doing whatever you want. When you’re doing what you enjoy you are at your most entertaining. I still enjoy the GTA stuff generally. But I’d enjoy just about anything you guys do. Just don’t get burned out again. If it makes Geoff disappear again, I don’t want it lol. Long as yall are having fun I’d genuinely watch anything.

Tucker Watts

I'm all for GTA Mondays. I've thought this whole time you guys back log is going to get so insane with the amount it sounds like you've already filmed and the current slow pace it releases

mantz88

Absolutely for GTA Mondays. I’ve already been disappointed in not having Monday content, and there’s been nothing that has filled that GTA Monday void. I love getting the nostalgia kick while also having an entire new viewing experience with a different crew.

Kasper

My biggest complaint about regulation is you guys talking about something and then we not seeing it for months. Anything that could improve the release cadence of everything is needed for me.

dibdab

In my opinion the best content you guys produce or have ever produced (RT, AH, FF, etc) is when you're having fun. Keep doing the things you enjoy cause it's what I personally love. The videos the streams the podcast. Can't get enough. This is my absolute favorite podcast and I'll continue to support this amazing group of people. Officially a comment leaver now.

Steve

While I love the idea of more content, please don't commit to a "weekly slot". If you guys WANT to start releasing stuff more often because you have a large backlog by all means please, but never be committed to that "extra Monday slot"

CornyStew713

Monday GTA will fill a hole in my heart that's been missing since AH dropped it. I think having a Monday flex spot for whatever you're all currently passionate about is a great idea, and if that spot is vacant every now and then (or even for extended periods of time), I think that's all good.

Keith

Hey Eric, I don't watch any of the video content. Idgaf. Just make give me some audio optional supplementals every so often. That'd be nice.

Angel A

I want the GTA videos out as timely as possible just cos they sound like a lot of fun. If releasing one a week makes sense for you guys then that's cool

Michael V

how long until Regulation City is a thing

Alyssa Gordon

I loved the weekly GTA videos back in AH days and I would love a weekly GTA video now, for all the reasons Geoff mentioned. I love knowing what to expect, I love a funny thing to start the week, most of your other content isn't visual and can be listened to in the car/while doing other stuff but a gameplay that is visual is a fun different thing that forces me to fully sit there and appreciate, love it. Whatever you end up doing will be fine and good though, trust you all to make the best choice for you.

Cat

Give us the GTA Monday slot!!! Weekly GTA videos would be INCREDIBLE!

Jonathan Cole

GTA vids are probably my favourite game related video you guys do, but any game where fun is being had is a good time

Conner Stillie

I enjoy watching you guys have fun in games no matter the game. It’s the comrade and jokes that come from videos you enjoy making. If that is gta right now than I will take it! I watch gameplay videos and podcasts instead of tv

Samantha Ruwe

You guys could release 2 videos a day and id watch, if your busy or gone its fine because there's more content to come back to. Not a huge fan of the delayed video release, the AH videos it got mentioned at the start of everyone for awhile and it got old.

Jeremy B

To me the reason I love yall and loved achievement hunter/rooster teeth from the beginning is it’s a group of friends playing games being dumb and having fun. So personally it doesn’t matter to me the game, if it’s GTA and will be for a while moving forward that’s cool,if you’re over GTA and end up with a different game to play that’s awesome to me to. I dont see the need to force one game cause that’s what is what was the start. And if you dont have a video that week I dont see the harm if thats sort of added to your schedule release Wonder if it could be almost instead of a “GTA series” it’s a “What were currently playing” series that the squad is just all into

Seth

GTA Mondays, yes please!

Benjamin Wells

I like the weekly release schedule, but I don’t necessarily care what the video is. GTA is always great, but if you change to something else, that’s fine too. Regarding burnout, I’ll just say that I don’t always need videos that are 1+ hours in length. I don’t always have the time to sit a watch an entire hour video and would love some 10-20min videos instead.

Christopher Poet

For GTA and any game for that matter, as long as you’re having fun, I’m having fun. That’s what matters

Lizzy

Could “Bog Roll Folder” be that you were asking who folds and who scrunches the toilet paper when they wipe? Kinda like who sits and who stands to wipe? 😂

Jonathan69_420

I think the schedule is great for setting expectations but there's also nothing wrong in bending it to fit the current vibe you're having. If you have too much content and want to put it out more don't feel the schedule should limit you kinda like Nicks last of us vids earlier. Hell if there's too much, you could do a whole week of GTA for awhile just to go thru it like a flash sale. We as the audience will always accept that more content but you can set our expectations by saying like we're clearing out the back load. Think a good example recently was videogamedunkey, Dunkey releases vids whenever he wants and usually a couple a month. But he released vids daily for like 2 weeks outta the blue and it was great, more Dunkey. Then went back to usual. Granted his vids are much shorter but something to look at. Think you guys should do what you feel is right

Dylan Fx

Personally I think if you guys are okay with the workload, then do a weekly release of whatever game. I don’t think fan burnout is too much of an issue because the people that don’t want to watch it won’t. And once it’s released, people can always go back and watch it later if they would like to. It’s not like they have to watch it as soon as it’s out.

David Pritchard

I was a big AH fan years ago but I haven’t watched much of the Regulation gaming content, because I’m mainly here for the podcast. I’d rather have another podcast each week or supplemental podcast content

Chris

About adding in more videos per week: if you guys are having fun, I’m having fun. I’d much rather watch you guys play games and enjoy yourself than watch the same tv shows over and over again while doom scrolling.

Michie Frank

I have lately watched a lot of old episodes of the show and I think I know what bogroll folders is. It might be about Andrew's filing cabinets in his bedroom. You were talking about filing random household objects under the corresponding letters

Joe Audsley

Bum cheese button

Jessee Juarez

I agree with what Andrew said. Just replace the slot if you get tired but also please don't over work yourselves.

Jessee Juarez

Id rather there be more supplemental content available to lower tiers than increase the amount of gameplay videos released. I haven't watched a single GTA video and have no interest in watching them. Y'all are doing way more interesting and fun things in everything else you do and id rather y'all put energy towards those. Drafts, feud, the E3 video, Ratshaker, etc feel fresher and more interesting than another formulaic GTA mission. Unrelated to mondays, Geoff and Andrew need to watch the Netflix Terminator Animated series if they want a Terminator thing that's good.

Asaxybard

Your GTA content is some of my favorite content. I'd love to see more of it. It shows how much you guys enjoy it. The best content is the content you enjoy making!

Brady Huber

While I would tune in for GTA every week, my very small personal gripe is watching content that's several months dated. I might be alone on this, but I would prefer listening to the boys talk about more recent bits, references, and current events. Sometimes it can feel like a bit of a time capsule when content is released long after it's recorded.

Rigdab

I’ll edit for you

R0GU3xx

I would love to have GTA Monday’s. I really just want there to be a way for them to get all these videos they have queued up out to us. If they eventually ran through the backlog I’d be fine with the Monday slot going away.

Bromine

If you ever wonder why studios play it safe and don’t go crazy. It’s because of people like Geoff not understanding that Henry Cavill who hasn’t had a superman movie in over a decade is not superman and that they rebooted it despite seeing a trailer with a new guy. It’s not at all confusing with less than 10 minutes of research really.

Daniel Hodder

I just binge watched the original Dexter show because I'd never seen it and I was constantly getting clips of Dexter in my feed

Fyurae

As a whole milk drinker. I can’t abide this change from Gav in the wrong direction. 1% awful.

klok

Im down for more, I was sitting at work at 5 am, checking like ever 10 min to see if the podcast was up yet because I needed somthing to listen to.

Cole

once in a blue moon comment leaver already, but figured i'd say my take on of your discussion. i don't give a fuck about gta. but i like hearing your jokes etc and they exist within gta. i will put it on and listen to it in the background when i'm wokring or playing a game etc. and i like the idea that if people like it, it supports the channel as a whole? that incline is good for me because it means you have the ability to create other content or continue as a whole? so i support this.

Summer Song

I kinda agree with Geoff’s thinking of ‘weekly GTA is a steady video series people return to’ but I don’t think it needs to be limited to GTA if that could cause burnout. If there was a regular rotation of series that get good views, I’d watch. I think it just needs to be a game that is widely known and has plenty of content. For AH, I always watched every GTA and every Minecraft, because they were steady series in games I knew and loved. I didn’t always watch videos of games I had never heard of. Even a long play through of a game would work here, like the gears of war, could fill in this slot over a number of weeks. Just my two cents

aisling_nx

I personally am not into a weekly GTA video. You already have a weekly series called Regulation Podcast. For me with gameplay and streams it's getting to the upper limit of time commitment to keep up. I'd rather have a shorter Monday release or nothing at all compared to long form stuff that's always the same.

Han

Make the content that makes you guys happy! We all watch because we have fun when you have fun.

Rebecca Gibbon

Right now I would LOVE more GTA from you guys. Every time I watch a new episode I get excited to see the next, and end up watching the old ones over and over until a new one comes out. The heist vid that came out last week, idk how many times I’ve watched it but I die laughing each time. lol. It’s kind of the same when AH was doing gmod. I never got tired of a new video every week. I loved it and was so sad when that ended. Whatever you guys decide, it’s not going to affect me watching and listening to ya’ll. Do what makes you happy and what you are comfortable doing.

Jessica_C

Geoff is right about the concern for burnout, but I don’t want it to turn into what happened at AH where you had year(s) long weekly videos in a single game. If Mondays had a rotation through the year of a highlight game (i.e GTA, Pico Park, etc), that would be better imo. It would be almost like a season format. You could still bank up videos and release them as a continuity, but you and the audience wouldn’t be locked into only having that every Monday for 52 weeks. Depending on how much you guys like the game, it would be a rotation every 3 months, quarterly or every half of the year. I feel like the cast does better when there’s a little bit of discovery instead of getting into a rhythm in the game. Just my two cents, this idea may suck and not work for how y’all have the schedule planned out.

Lane

Hey, It seems like having an editor would really help your channel. Especially if you intend to dive into more live action content. Id love to send you my resume. I'm more than willing to commit to an unpaid work from home internship. like...two projects a week.
