It carries the sour straight through those powerhouses to give you the tequila flavor but cutting out the crappy sour flavors of a bad or cheap bottle. Some people dig cinnamon and and orange twist to try to compliment it in a different way. I'm a fan of one that's so good by itself, it needs no handlebars, and just does it's own thing. Clooney makes a decent tequila, Don julio is a classic, and it never hurts just asking the bartender what your sipping tequila bang for your buck bottle is.
