2024-12-13 17:47:10 +0000 UTCIn Branson it’s like every third billboard or advertisement is about Yakov Smirnoff. Also the Titanic museum is a very cool place to visit. I went with my wife and parents and my wife was the only one whose person lived. It was amazing to see how each class of passengers had specific items made for them. Like dishes and beds. The 3rd class passengers beds were like 5 and a half feet long.

2024-12-12 17:24:53 +0000 UTCI’m truly sorry that you are dealing with so much Geoff. I hope it gets better for you soon. I have really bad anxiety also and it fucking sucks. I had horrible ear pain and had to go see an ENT, just for him to tell me it’s bc I clinch and grind my jaw. I started seeing a therapist and got on meds to help me. Another thing I started doing, is when my anxiety and depression gets really bad, I start writing down everything that I have accomplished, what I’m thankful for, or what I’m just happy about. Example: I got up and showered today, my two godsons I get to spend time with, my best friend and family. Or in your case, you get to work with your best friends everyday. I pray you get a better handle on your anxiety and it either goes away or it gets more manageable. I do love how the gang decided to get him a bunch of boxing stuff to make a sucky situation better. I love ya’ll guys friendship.

I was laid off twice in the same year and the job I landed in is a step backwards from where my career was and the work sucks. The layoffs have "unlocked" an anxiety in me that I never had before them and have dealt with very regularly for the last couple years. I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say that "I get it and I feel for you, man." Thanks for making a podcast that I look forward to every single week.

2024-12-11 21:18:05 +0000 UTCHey Geoff as someone who has had a dozen root canals, bone grafting in my jaw, and implants in my mouth feel your pain. Sorry you have to go through that! See if you can find a good oral surgeon they're way more knowledgeable than a dentist! See if they can do anything for the nerves, sometimes it just takes the right person. I know my mom had them use a Gamma Knife to fix some nerve endings in her mouth with chronic pain. Wishing you the best!!

To be honest, I don't think Mandarin speakers are used to the idea of putting words in air quotes like that. Maybe a more accurate translation would be "《我们》这个词的意思是说《你》的" which is kinda more like "the meaning of the word 'we' is 'you.'" Might be different depending on if you're North or South Chinese and probably other things as well. I'm sure Eric will put this information to good use
