These are the New Standards // Regulators Episode 1

In Regulators, we have set out to choose the regulation version of everything but the important twist: not all 5 members of the show can be present for an episode. Each episode will bring a different group arguing and debating what the regulation version of your favorite items are. Let us know what you think of our choices.

That's right! You only want beef in your hamburger!!!

Chris Murphy

Gherkins literally make burgers worthwhile

Chris Murphy

Garlic aoli is absolutely psychotic

Chris Murphy

Love standard cut fries BUT with potato peel left, makes it a bit crispier!

Bennet Liranzo

Meat pies are the best, Acadian Christmas meat pie are amazing

Derek MacLellan

100% agree

Brice Campbell

Regulation hot dog is hotdog and bun only with an assortment of regular condiments you would find and fair Ketchup, mustard. Mayo, relish and if you're lucky onions.

Brice Campbell

Never had it. Gotta try it

klok

Yes! Thanksgiving draft!

klok

Absolutely

klok

GARLIC AIOLI???? GARLIC AIOLI ITS KETCHUP MUSTARD AND MAYO. onions good af and required imo

Alyssa Gordon

You guys might think this is weird. But Chick-fil-A sauce on a hotdog is 🔥

Dakota Hillman

I think the regulation hotdog is a plain hotdog and bun, specifically with color coded bottles/dispensers of ketchup, mustard, and relish on a table nearby. I don’t think I’ve ever had a hotdog that didn’t meet that criteria.

Spencer Cole

Garlic aioli is more regulation than bbq sauce

burtalert

Also Eric's biggest red flag is thinking, as a regular ass white dude... He's right about anything

Evan

Hype for the pickle heads. 🙌🙌🙌

Kezz21

I feel like we need a firm decision on what is Regulation and what is Bog Standard. Or are they the same? 🤔

Kezz21

You're a tart!!!!! But also, so is cheesecake. 😊

Kezz21

The amount of pickle disrespect (disrespickle) is unacceptable. Where my pickleheads at?

Crimmy

I was going to say, Ketchup is the regulation sauce so it should definitely be on everything that requires a sauce.

WesleyDickens

I am a professional chef, a cheesecake is indeed a tart.

Evan

I love this show as a concept and I love this episode. It hit the pie part and I honestly wish they had time to regulate Thanksgiving dinner. Main protein, sides, dessert, ect. Also would be awesome to see a Thanksgiving draft just to see what the popular and most hated sides are lol I'll keep my hopes up for regulating christmas

Haley

so with gavin with pie i would love chicken pie or meat pie with loads gravy and mash over apple or cherry pie

Victoria Cooke

As an Australian its madness to not have a classic meat pie as the regulation pie.

Zac Hughes

With Gavin on pies. When I think pie, I think a meat pie at the footy. Four'n'twenty style. But Apple Pie is the regulation sweet pie.

Adam

I gotta say, I love the structured discussions. Still discordant, but there's at least a train of thought to follow.

Thundercus

the wackadoo end pieces of waffle fries are amazing

rashyroo

Ketchup should always be the regulation condiment especially on burgers & hotdogs. Gav was totally right. Would love to hear regulation Thanksgiving plates

klok

Absolutely insane. So annoyed. Clearly the regulation dog is a tube of ground bison in natural sheep casing on a gluten free brioche footlong hoagie roll, regulation burger is a lamb patty with my personal grandmother’s mint and curry paste on two pieces of folded card stock, regulation pie is a boot filled with sweetened condensed milk. Spot on about regulation fries tho

Chimp Steinham

Pumpkin

Chimp Steinham

I'm so annoyed by the pie discussion, dessert pies are normally so over the top sweet that I can't stand them. A meat pie is easily the default!

Katherine

I enjoyed this, but at the same time, I feel like its insane to decide regulations without Geoff and Nick.

Megan

Gav, shepard's pie is delicious but it's a pie in name only. it is not what you think of when you first think of the word pie

Dan Walsh

If I wanted cheese on my burger than I would ask for a cheeseburger. If you say hamburger then there better not be cheese near it. You guys are so backwards it’s not even funny. Complete disconnect from reality.

Mr. Dude Sky

a regulation burger not being "burger, bun, onions, lettuce, tomato, bbq sauce (or other sauce)" without any other nonsense add-ons is frankly confusing lol

Shwafta

I'm with Gavin, I've never eaten pumpkin pie it looks gross as hell. I don't even want to think about what it tastes like

Dan Walsh

There is zero percent chance this can be the regulation dog, aka the go to dog anyone might have, as a base. I've never heard of frying a dog, chilli is not a common topping that people have that often, and not everyone likes spicy mustard. This makes sense as your preference but no way most people are going to want this or as a default

Dan Walsh

I feel like the odd one out in the burger conversation. I work in a quick-service cafeteria, where we make burgers to order. If someone asks for a hamburger we have to ask if they want cheese because 90% of the time when they say hamburger they don't want cheese. People who want cheese ask for cheeseburgers or hamburgers with cheese.

Addmorebees

Pure madness. Deep fried hot dog with spicy mustard, chili, and raw onions should be the regulation dog. Chili is a condiment and any condiment is a viable option for the regulation hot dog. Also Sonic the hedgehog eats chili dogs.

ThrowBricksAtKids

The regulation hot dog is wrong from the start. I disagree with Eric, the buns that are cut from the top is objectively superior. Once I had one of those I never wanted a side cut one ever again

Dan Walsh

So are y’all going to make everything R.V like Taylor Swift does?

klok

The regulation pie verdict would be considered treason in Australia, it’s a meat pie, preferably from a servo, with tomato sauce!

Jason Witt

It HAS to be Ketchup and Mustard on a standard bun for regulation dogs, MAYBE add relish. Fries the standard straight cut or crinkle cut fries are probs the best choice for standard fries. Pies regulation is one with so much variety so it’s hard to choose. I would say Pumpkin Pie personally for top choice of pie but it may be too good for regulation. Other than that it would have to be apple. Regulation Burger is def sesame seed bun, cheese, ketchup, pickles. Possibly lettuce, onion, bacon and tomato but those are add ons. Choosing garlic aioli as a regulation topping for burger is CRAZY. Thousand island would also be insane. There is no argument for anything but ketchup as the regulation.

Tyrnip

Gavin was acting like a real full spectrum warrior at the beginning

Joshua Downey

I also can't wait for when chilli comes up cause you know Eric or Geoff are likely to be insane and try to veto kidney beans as a staple of any good chilli

Sean Lunt

They keep saying they picked 'standard cut' fries but McDonald's is shoestring. They decided on shoestring fries 🤷‍♂️ irked me more than it ought to have. Also Eric is the insane one this episode, fucking thousand Island is on a bigmac period, otherwise thats just a gross salad dressing choice 💀

Sean Lunt

I love that Gavin is the Andrew when it comes to pie.
