The house was built in 1983, in Australia, there were just wall holes installed in every room and at various intervals down the hallway, the vacuum unit itself was attached to the outside of the house. This is where the bag was located, with pipes running throughout the walls and under the floors, we don't do basements in our country, under the house is just a small crawlspace for maintenance purposes. The system itself was activated by having ball Barings around the inner ring of the tube, so when you insert a hose into the wall, it activates the vacuum system.

2024-11-06 19:06:40 +0000 UTCMy dad installed one of those central vacuum systems in the house I grew up in. We never had issues with clogs, probably because he hooked it up to a shop-vac in the garage instead of the standard vacuums the prebuilt systems come with. That thing is POWERFUL
