We tried many...many...things to help and while we didn't have a great deal of luck, some things helped a little for a short while. 1) A Feliway Defuser. https://www.feliway.co.uk/?srsltid=AfmBOooyya9gCb3wrUv1LaPZuPPM7WMugfsqU9pcrBAG36ZoufJ7aLcB It's supposed to put out a calming scent for cats. Not sure on what you can get in the US, but there must be something similar. 2) Cleaning the spot where they pissed with a few products - first, diluted washing powder, then clean and rinse with water, and finally a diluted surgical spirit spray that you can just lightly dry after a few seconds. Definitely stopped him peeing in the same place twice in a row, but eventually wore off. 3) We got so desperate at one point we called out a cat specialist, who sort of feng shu'd the house a bit (waste of time and money but YMMV). 4) The only option that ACTUALLY worked? We moved house. Not because of the piss, but it was a nice bonus that when we moved into our new home he stopped doing it immediately. We suspect it was the other cats around where we used to live stressing him out, but even when we got here there are plenty of other cats and that never seemed to bother him.

Peeing outside the litter box can be a sign of urinary tract issues which can be super dangerous, especially in male cats. But also my parents have a bunch of cats and sometimes they just piss everywhere so y'know, could be fine
