I just gotta say I appreciated all the openness and honesty in the Sausage Talk. I feel like if you don't want to see how the sausage is made....skip listening to the raw, messy, visceral grinding that is Sausage Talk. I think its strange to critique the content of Sausage Talk for being too sausage-y. Thanks for being willing to share with the audience.

1000%! Like, I live pretty close to where Andrew lives, but on the US side of the border...and I could NOT move to Texas. (Contributed to an engagement falling apart, that I didn't even really enjoy visiting). It's an enormous cultural & climate difference. And that's not including that I think if you get a visa sponsored through your work, beyond the approval process, it's also stupid expensive...the company has to pay it. Like....many thousands of dollars. With a startup, you also aren't going to have benefits, and so if Andrew needed health care, he'd have to arrange flying back to Canada any time he had any doctor's appointment needs. God forbid he have an emergency, or even something that made travel difficult. Don't get an ear infection ever. XD

Aidan Devlon

I will say this....it has been many years since I've looked, but office spaces were always significantly less expensive than apartments. Like half the cost for the same square footage, and that was like 15-20 years ago. It's probably even bigger as a discrepancy now, since there is always a housing shortage and a lot of office spaces are now unused.

Aidan Devlon

I mean, one person doing it has the potential to be weird and creepy. But if you put up a post about getting a local group together, then no creepy risk anymore. Kind of funny when you think about it, because 20 people is clearly more dangerous and unpredictable than one person.

Aidan Devlon

I had three ideas listening to this yesterday, but the only one I remember is....Would Andrew feel better about the office if they got him one of those iPads-on-a-robot body thing you'd see being pushed a while back? You know, so his face is at eye level (I think it can go up and down to adjust for sitting, standing, and back length), and he can control its movements around the office. Plus it would be very funny. (I am totally sympathetic to Andrew's feelings, though).

Aidan Devlon

So does this mean they couldnt get the 1001 slop oclock clocks to build the podcast set in gavin's studio?

J

Hell yeah, thank you!! 🙏🏻

If you haven't seen it yet; this site covers the movie rankings. It rules! https://doctor-reg.vercel.app/

Great behind the scenes of a lot a things I wouldn't have been thinking about. You guys have been through a lot but you enthusiasm and commitment has paid off and I'm hoping you'll all have a long future of creating what you want, when you want. So much fun. I'm also in the same boat of having purchased gifts that I wanted to send in just before the shut down, so I'm thankful for the PO box mention.

TheWholeLoaf

If you do get a office you could set up a webcam that goes 24/7 and Andrew can remote in.

Jessee Juarez

This is so great. It makes me so excited for what’s next for you guys

Ryan

"We're Not Stupid. This Shit Sucks" sums up the last few years for me, and I really think it needs to go on a t-shirt

ChuckSchwa

What about getting a johnny English tux?

Jessee Juarez

The snapshots of Gavin’s studio shows in some of the Slow Mo vids show it’s pretty big. Seems like a perfect place to have a little Regulation space carved out, but of course there’s always more going on in the background, and Gavin may not be allowed to “sub-lease” that space, even if it’s still technically him renting either way.

JP

How great would having sim rigs for trucks. I don't assume everyone has room for one in home. You need a space

Joshua Downey

I worked at a sporting goods store for a couple years. We sold stuff to make your own sausages including casings. We had clear (as Gavin mentioned) and, of course, we also had camo. So, people could make camo sausage.

To Geoff and Eric and anyone else who has to deal with all the forms and beauroucracy... I just want you to know - as someone who DESPISES that shit, I super duper empathize and appreciate what you have to go through just so you'll be able to keep this podcast going and brighten our lives. You are true heroes

You should get an outfit from Horizon at auction to help grow the community for Horizon 2!

Jordan Hunt

I knew they were putting the fuckface gameplay on the let's play channel to boost their dead numbers, I'm glad geoff just straight up confirmed it

Adam Watson

Eric really flubbed that ending up

Eric 90

Aww shit, I happened to be in Austin when the company closed, I wanted to do the sign thing but everyone told me it'd be weird abd creepy... im glad someone did though

Nick

I think the thing Andrew needs to realize is he is the unofficial mascot of the podcast. It started around him and if he left the true soul of the podcast would leave too. There is no chance he would be pushed out and if that truly was a concern he could relocate even though that isn't very easy but it is there. I think him being so hands on with the video stuff keeps him top of mind anyways.

Trevor Deal

I wonder.... if you guys are gonna rent a place... how about a small 1 bed apartment typa thing... make it casual aesthetic... made at home feel, but desing the space... but then... Thats Andrews apartment in austin when he's visiting. his space. Perhaps a compomise that could work? kinda..

Murk

Totally get where Andrew's coming from with the office space thing. Being the only one long-distance is already tough. Being the only one long-distance when everyone is planning on getting a dedicated space to collaborate in that you naturally can't be a part of? I'd be anxious too. This is gonna sound silly but I moved to TX and left my dnd group in NC. Every time we use discord it feels great, feels like we're all even. Every time they set up at one of their houses and I have to be the only one on a screen looking at the rest of them getting to have this very organic experience together, I get a little flash of anxiety that this is how my time with them phases out.

Matthew Ferguson

Andrew, if you want Survive Block Island S2 I have it on my server. I can send you that, if you want it. I tried to grab a lot of stuff but obviously too much to grab everything. I have FF animations, gameplay, podcast and FF off and etc because I wasn't sure what would survive.

Trevor Deal

I feel like you should look up just what it takes to move countries, and especially what it takes to immigrate into the US. Also just, not everyone wants to live in the USA. Geographically they may be relatively close, but culturally B.C. and Texas are worlds apart.

Kristen

There’s some pretty genuine earnestness and vulnerability in this, and thanks for putting it out anyway. Double thanks to the people on the podcast receiving it in real time with grace and collaboration. 🩵

Amy Bennett

Andrew, just say you’re scared to get pushed out. It’s 100% not a business issue. You dancing around the issue that you’re scared you’d get pushed out or miss out on things isn’t helping anyone.

Robmathew

I love you guys lets hang out

Jeremy B

For the love of god get a John Wick pencil and make Andrew eat it

Fister Miyagi

It reminds me of Sea of Thieves but I am not confident

Dan Walsh

To the studio space discusion, I've always been confused why this podcast was recorded at home when they had an office they could use. Andrew is remote sure but I never understood why that meant everyone was at home, I guess it's partly because the show started during covid but it just makes sense that they would do this in person since they're so close and can, and that Andrew would be on the side on mic

Dan Walsh

Could we get an update on the summer movie money rankings? Or a possible link 😄

lilb1997

Probably just me but the final conversation about renting a space was a bit uncomfy and felt like it maybe should have taken place off air, so to speak 😅

Georgina Masters

I feel like Andrew’s “office” issue could be solved by him moving to Texas. He keeps referring to it as “remote” even though everyone lives near each other except him. I know moving countries isn’t an easy option either and I’m sure he has other reasons not to, but it just makes more sense to me. I’m just a comment leaver though, love the BTS stuff, boys.

Dalton Weakly

Andrew makes very valid points for not wanting to lease a place for Regulation Pod but there is a benefit in that that would give him guaranteed lodging any time he comes to visit in the future

sarcasmnscience

I totally understand Andrew's hesitation with renting a PERMANENT space. I think it's wild that 100% Eat is doing it - they spend half of the show on the road, afterall. It got grazed over but it is an interesting thought to schedule and rent time in Gavin's space - saving a monthly expense but allowing for space as needed. The guy that owns it is pretty chill, I'll bet he'll offer the fairest price in town. As it is now, you're lean and flexible. Huge monthly expenses really tie you down. But maybe you're not looking for feedback on Sausage Talk. Sorry Eric.

Tilgare

What game is the background from? I like the art style.

Magri

Hey guys, Protected By Falcons Tier here! I feel like it’s annoying to hear things like this from your audience but nonetheless I did want to throw this out there and offer: Heard you guys mention you’re contracting editors. I work as a video editor and have a ton of experience with Adobe Premiere and multicam editing. Wanting to offer my help because I love your guys’ content and want you to be as successful as possible. If anyone from the Regulation Company wants to message me and ask for any of my previous work I’m happy to send it. If not, no worries I understand I’m just some dipshit on the internet 😂
