I beat him solo with bleed-infused backhand blades, and while those don’t exactly deal great stance damage, I don’t think I got a stagger on literally any attempt

2024-07-11 18:02:26 +0000 UTCAll fair points, but the key against Radaahn, imo, is status buildup. Mixing a couple rot pots with a fast bleed works very well. But you’re right, I misspoke. I should have said inferior in this particular fight.

2024-07-11 17:51:28 +0000 UTCEverything else you're saying is totally fair, but the nagakiba is easily the best katana in the game—just not the way he's using it. If you're ignoring ashes of war like Andrew, then yeah, you want something faster swinging with better status buildup, but Unsheathe is easily one of the best AoWs in the game and exclusive to katanas: it does insane stance damage (plus good actual damage) and can be executed far more quickly than a charged R2, letting you stagger enemies very efficiently and safely. Since the nagakiba has the longest range and highest damage of all katanas, it synergizes so well with Unsheathe that it's not only easily the best katana, but one of the best weapons in the game, period.
