I don't think I've listened to Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, I'll have to seek it out and give it a listen! I feel like most of my English Opera knowledge lies mainly with Gilbert and Sullivan, which I suppose is more Operetta than Opera, but fun none the less!

Twitter, and Microsoft, and other dumb companies are always doing "how to use our products to make money" zoom seminars for free. Sign up for them, they'll send about 12 emails reminding you so it really feels important. Then bam take a nap instead.

And operas in many other languages. But opera was invented in Italy, so many of the more famous operas that you’ll hear in movies, shows, etc, are in Italian!

Opera singers often sing in languages that they don't understand, they know how to pronounce them perfectly but if the audience doesn't understand the language being sung and the singer doesn't truly fluently understand the language being sung it is pretty much emotional noises.

It is extremely relaxing in a way I can't describe, and I think I have an answer on how to achieve this. What I reccomend is if you have someone in your household, let them know you're doing this. Have them schedule some low stakes chores for you to do. Now if you aren't asleep, you HAVE to do them. But if you fall asleep, it won't be as big of a deal. That way you're knowing you are sleeping through something you had to do.
