Watercolour paintings - thoughts, processes, references

Here are some comparisons of my watercolour paintings with the actual photos I used, along with my thoughts/self critiques, so you guys can see what I focus on/want to improve on.

Maybe once I complete my sketchbook, I'll do a whole pdf of these, we'll see...

The most important thing with watercolours, if you are having trouble with it, is to LET LAYERS DRY COMPLETELY. That means waiting until the paper is room temperature. Sometimes the paper FEELS dry, but feels a little cool to the touch - it's NOT DRY. If you paint on that, you'll get the muddiness that a lot of beginners like me end up creating and getting frustrated over.

Another important thing is surveying the entire image before you paint. So know what places are dark and what places are light, and what the overall colour blocks are. It takes some practice to train your eyes that way, but practice really pays off.

If you have any questions, let me know of course!

Thank you all again for your support, I really appreciate it!
