Hollow Tier update
Added 2023-04-12 09:53:56 +0000 UTCOkay its been AGES since I updated the Hollow Tier and news on House of the Dragon!
In all honesty I was very stressed at the end of last year about the Channel and I have put off uploading the last few videos. I really struggled with reaction content on YouTube, the editing and copyright was very hard and that on top of a YouTube gaming channel, well, wasn't going very well. I kind of struggle with gaming videos alone, as it is. My goal for this year is to be able to hire an editor to help edit the videos!
So where is House of the Dragon now? I just removed the parts I had uploaded to YouTube as I didn't finish the series and obviously feel bad that they are not here on Patreon either! I am unable to edit this Tier while people are pledged but I fully understand if you wish to edit your pledge yourself or cancel it completely given that I am not addressing any of the benefits listed. For the sake of new people coming in in the future, I am going to edit the description of this Tier to say something along the lines of: if you want to give a little extra to the Channel. I currently can't meet the previous Tier requirements, and I think I will need an editor if I want to try this content again. I am really sorry, it is disappointing and frustrating, I am annoyed at myself.
I also want to thank you for all the patience and understanding you have shown me, as well as continuing to pledge to this Tier given its current state! It is very kind and I am so grateful. But I apologize for not clarifying this sooner!

Our donations are to help you do what you need to do in order to provide content in the manner that makes you happy. Honestly, as long as you are happy making content, that will show through to your audience. As for the editor, my son is hoping to start a Youtube channel and we are learning how to edit video ourselves. I see a couple other people more qualified that have offered but you can add my name to that volunteer list. Whatever we can do to help you out.

2023-04-15 06:32:48 +0000 UTCI'd never consider dropping a tier, I wouldn't mind say a $10 tier just for the Early Access, but at the end of the day (though I can't speak for anyone else) I consider the primary point of Patreon to be supporting you and your channel, and any perks I gain from that to be secondary.

I wouldn't ask for any kind of payment or formal agreement until I've been able to demonstrate meeting the quality/quantity that you're looking for. I'm currently wrapping up my semester so I'll have time to commit, and if it goes well I'd be happy to continue as school resumes. However! Regardless of your future, I know managing videos and Patreon has been a bit tricky for you and I wish you all the best! Your content has truly been really enjoyable, so I hope that comes to eventually make things easier for you soon

I think it's the right call to modify the tier to be more of a "if you want to give more" type of thing - there doesn't always need to be rewards or bonuses, and in a way I sometimes think it can be a bad thing to lock people out of content who may not be able to afford that bit extra anyway, especially with how things are at the moment with the cost of living. I personally see patreon/tiers as "I like your content, here's some money to encourage you to keep doing it", rather than "here's some money, give me perks now!!"... I'm sure that's the case for most people in here. Don't stress over getting additional stuff out 🙂

I personally am very happy to continue pledging at the Hollow tier with the gaming content you've been putting out, I still see it as an absolute bargain!
