SUBNAUTICA Part 5!

There's a little audio issue that keeps happening when I export but I cant seem to fix it this time! Not sure what causes it because the clips sound fine, as does the final edit in the editor haha.

Thanks for watching everyone :)

SUBNAUTICA Part 5!

Comments

Even after playing through both Subnautica games, I had no clue that the vehicles can get destroyed. I expected them to just be unusable until repaired, But this was my first time seeing it break down completely. Great video tho :)

Loving these episodes and experiencing the game again in your order of priority! I was scared to go to the Aurora until much later in the game. I won't repeat the tips others have said, but a personal request would be to make a flashlight as it's much stronger than the seaglide at lighting up areas and would make the nighttime segments in the video much easier to decipher.

Ori Vasilescu

Yes, use the repair tool on everything. If you do go back to the Aurora, there is an upgrade for the Seamoth you missed in the Seamoth lab.

Rogue Variable

I don't think there's a way to recover destroyed vehicles, so you'll have to make another Seamoth; however, you can use the repair tool to fix any damage caused by bumping into things while driving, crashing into sea life (or from being attacked by it), etc.

Ah, fair. I thought it would be more like Outer Wilds as its often brought up in conversation surrounding that game. But this doesnt sound like itll be the kind of thing I'll be into so I'll skip this one. Cheers.

Let's just say you can dive to something like 1400m below the surface. That's how deep this madness goes. There are crazy set pieces and lots of Lore to discover. Exploration is equally as big as survival, crafting and habitat-building to the game. There are places where I was quite literally crapping my pants because of how scared I was. I just can't wait for Amber to get there. She's gonna loose her marbles. Though the sequel, Below Zero, is *FAR MORE* story-driven with voice-acting for the player-character.

Goblinounours

Like others have already pointed out, your next move should be to re-make a new Seamoth, go back to the Aurora to scan Prawn Suit pieces, and then go back to the ruined base in the purple mushroom biome so you can scan blueprints for new bigger habitat rooms. Base building in Subnautica is pretty awesome once you get the ball rolling! I even think the devs updated the game fairly recently to add new rooms, but I might be wrong. Once you have a bigger Habitat (I would recommend not building so close to the spawn life-pod) and a prawn suit, you'll be set to explore the Deep Down Dark Deep Down (as Jacksepticeye calls it, anything below 200m). Good luck!

Goblinounours

You didn't see any story stuff in the first 2 episodes because she didn't interact with the radio to drive it forward. Defiantly worth catching up.

Rogue Variable

It is story based, actually two stories in parallel, and the story is what guides and leads you further into the game. But how fast that happens depends on the player because it only progresses as you follow the distress signals and PDA entries. I actually whiffle waffled for hours before I finally looked up what I needed to do to, follow the PDA and signals, to make the story go further. So this could be a slow and boring watch for you if you want an engaging story pace. I, and many others, however, enjoy watching what others do for survival. Base building, food gathering/storage tactics and the like. I find it all fun!

Perry Wolf

I stopped watching after episode 2 as the game just seems to be all about survival and crafting. Does it turn into more? Is there a story or mystery to solve or something? Is it worth catching up?

A couple tips for you: 1. The propulsion cannon can be a handy weapon against small creatures, catch them and then blast them away. Good for the alien spiders and small bitey fish. It can also be used to very easily catch fish, simply grab them with the beam and then left click to take the fish. This, combined with the Gravity Ball, is an excellent way of gathering fish quickly. 2. Speaking of fish, as you kind of saw, certain fish give better food values. The best fish for eating hangs out in the red grass area, you've yet to catch one. Also, not sure if you discovered it yet even though you found salt, but combining salt with fish in the fabricator creates food that doesn't rot, good for long trips. 3. Drinking Water, as you saw, certain water fills your thirst gauge better. You can make disinfected water by using bleach, made from Coral Tube samples and salt. Salt is common around the red grass area and also the Creep Vine forests close to the red grass area. 4. Batteries. If you're out far from where you can make new batteries, and one of your more used tools runs out of juice, (such as the seaglide), you can remove a good battery from a less used tool by equipping it and then pressing "R" to replace battery, then just remove the good battery, equipe the tool with the dead battery, then replace the one in that tool with the good one. 5. More battery tips: If you wish to make a new tool, or even the Power Cells, don't use newly made batteries. Instead, put the new batteries in your various tools and use the used up or less charged batteries to make your Power Cells/tools, the new Power Cell or tool is fully charged even though you used dead batteries. 6. Regrettables: Unfortunately, unbeknownst to you at the time, you can repair your Seamoth with your repair tool. As you figured it out, you could've scanned the Prawn Suit. Also, you missed an upgrade for your Seamoth in the Seamoth Bay. There is a spot on the left side of the Seamoth for installing upgrades, this is what you saw and confused you when you first entered the Seamoth shortly after having made it. 7. You discovered a large white bit of wreckage near the red grass area when you first found that area, you swam through a square ladder tube and tried to get into the wreckage via a hole in the top. You can enter these wreckages and it's highly recommended you do, there are valuable scannables and data boxes inside these. Having the laser cutter will come in handy in many of these. just explore the wreckage more thoroughly, you'll usually find a way in somewhere. Lastly, that rusty old base you found in the purple mushroom caves is very much worth going for another visit, there are some very valuable and handy scanables and items there, plus PDA entries that will guide you further into the game! Speaking of where you've been before, I highly recommend going back and exploring the gun turret island, lots of resources and handy stuff. The path going up where you found the first whole purple tablet continues around and up the mountain. Your habitat looks like all of ours did when we began, it's a good start! Plus, you started to scan something down at the old rusty base that will help make your habitat more livable. Note: The big glass lockers, even though they have more space, end up not having as much space as the wall lockers because the wall lockers can be placed close together and, as a result, give you more inventory space in the long run. Mostly, glad you're having fun! So are we watching your play-through!

I'm enjoying watching this series and looking forward to the next one. :) In answer to your question at the end of the video, my first Sea Moth lasted until the end of the game... which wasn't long, because I died in the Aurora in the exact same place you did, with that fiery door. :P (And I was playing Hardcore mode, so that was game over) My second Sea Moth in my second game lasted a little longer. Let's see... I put it up on my Youtube channel, so I can tell you it lasted about 15 hours and 15 minutes before it met its tragic end. :P (Plus whatever time I edited out of the videos) Anyway, I'm sure your next Sea Moth will last longer; just remember to repair it with your repair tool, and you'll be fine. :)

This has been wonderful, excited for when you continue

Another fun episode! I managed to not break my Seamoth . . . but I watcher another Let's Play where someone managed to get 4!! Seamoths stranded on land . . . so you are doing fine.! Only 5 episodes in and you are already off to get a Subnautica 'Peeper' tattoo . . . impressive! 😉

trengilly

Having a blast watching this playthrough, and this episode was no different! I’d love to see you read more though, it’s been so long since I played Subnautica myself I really can’t remember what the different PDA’s say or how the many scannable creatures are described etc, so I hope you’ll read more in the future, much like you did the Hunter’s Journal in Hollow Knight. Hope you get to take a nice break during your upcoming trip and good luck with that tattoo!

Marcel Génetay

So much fun so far. One tip, and one tip only. Lifepod 3. Otherwise, just keep on with what you're doing.

Mark Robson

back to back vids! love to see it!

ChilledGricken

Another quick tip. When you go back to scan the Prawn Suit, take another peek in the Seamoth Bay. Trust me, it will be well worth your while! Fun episode, lot's of progress again!

Ben

I was so excited to see the Seamoth - while its time among us was brief, it lit up our worlds and brightened our days. May the Seamoth V.2 be even better! A small non-too-spoilery tip is that you can repair it with the repair tool so that your next Seamoth doesn't meet the same fate. And I do fear that you were correct near the end of the video with regards to a certain prawn suit... Hope your trip & tattoo all goes well.
