Hikari's Dilemma - Shot 10 - Back to Puppets

Aaaaaaaand we're back to puppet animation again in Hikari's Dilemma (Newgrounds / Vimeo / Youtube). Not as titillating as those fantastic traditionally animated closeups, but still important for the overall animation.
As always, I started with the original frame from the comic.
Using that frame as the basis, I redrew Hikari to be slightly more on model. Drawings still isn't my strong point, so it took a bit (I started like 8 shots ago), but eventually I wound up with something that looked pretty good. I also drew a few different mouth shapes, since she'll be speaking in this shot.
After that, it was just a matter of rigging up the shot, slapping on some animation, and applying the line boil effect I use to disguise my puppet animation. Then a few filters to make it all look more "anime", and we're golden.
The shot is 99% there, but I am definitely going to have to tweak some of the line boil in a few areas.
And now, onto the next shot!
Edit: Except I lied. I wasn't satisfied, so I wound up doing a bit more work to improve the shot. NOW, it's on to the next shot.
