I took a little break from the usual projects this month to try and do something I've wanted to do for a while... It's still April in my part of the world, which means I've made finished this project just in time!

Have some April O'Neil! I grew up with the classic Ninja Turtle's cartoon (though it was reruns and rented VHS tapes at the time), and I've desperately wanted to contribute to the April in April movement for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, due to how long my puppet animation takes, I've never been able to work quick enough, nor find an artist interested in drawing the assets.

Since these traditionally animated closeups I've been doing for Neon Genital have been working out so well, I figured why not give it a try this year!

Though it was a struggle at points, I had a blast working on this little loop. Even stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and did a little transition animation for the video version.

This would've been done a week or so earlier if a friend hadn't suggested that I do something unique for each turtle, other than changing their wristbands and belt buckles. But in the end, I'm glad I did!
