Added 2023-03-30 17:42:14 +0000 UTCThis video is about the nightmare I had trying to get the dark chestnut beams in the cottage bedroom, to a colour that matched the oak flooring and furniture.
I tried everything and finally settled on painting them to look like oak, borrowing a technique from the chateau dining room ceiling.
This video was filmed last summer, but was never released due to some technical problems with the footage. I’ve since been able to correct the problem and have edited it together.
i have quite a lot of unreleased videos, so when they are ready I will upload them here and to the YouTube channel members section on YouTube.

I had no idea that the ceilings in the chateau were not oak. I mean, back then it was like nothing to add them to most any out buildings as well. Thank you for not giving up on showing us these. It was nice you took some time off. Michael, you seem to be a perfectionist, a frustrating trait for some, like many gifted people, past and present, would get frustrated and leave the project, but later come back to it. You seem to carry some of those traits. But I am no Dr. to claim you are, just watch lots of utube. LOL But read up on. You showed us a past vlog to members only and said he didn't like it, but decided to share it with us. It was pretty good to me, again I'm not no tech guru, but it was pretty darn good to me. But maybe your time away, gave you the rest you needed and inspired yourself to slowly get back into it. You are such a wonderful person, and oh so funny, especially love how you are with Billy, must have been quite a pair back in your younger days. Oh my gosh, your poort Mom. LOL😂 But this little Gardeners Cottage is turning out to be such a jewel box. One day, this Gardeners Cottage will be seen by many, because you took "your' time to see it through correctly, and your way. People will visit it, like people do today with Beatrix Potter.
