Psychogenic seizures are caused by PTSD! Which would explain seizures for many young women. It’s highly linked to women who have experienced sexual assault at an early age, but any early childhood trauma could lead to psychogenic seizures and they usually appear when puberty kicks in. I wrote a thesis on this for my psych program. I also met with the head of psychogenic seizure study at CHOP when I was an undiagnosed seizure having 16 year old girl. After my own seizures I don’t know what’s going on and if someone told me to point to a witch who’d caused it, not knowing my own damn name in that moment I’d totally believe a witch had made a pact with the devil if I grew up in a puritanical society.
