2025-04-25 06:23:25 +0000 UTCYeah, the notify system they use is frustrating. It sounds like you already found it, but let me tell you some of the quirks of the system. A bit ago I went and tested how it worked which included signing up for my own Patreon with this account (stumbled into having two accounts and now I use this one for being a patron and the other for my writing) and tested editing a bunch using some test tiers I made. I'll post the results of the test I did, but the big thing I discovered (as of a couple years ago) is that the "Notify members that you edited this post" toggle option at the bottom of the Publishing Options does not act how you think it will. In particular and most useful for us is that if you edit a post, but only change what tiers have access to the post, Patreon will only notify the patrons who have just gained access. It will not notify those who already had access or who had access removed. Also, as of 2023, the notify option doesn't actually seem to notify patrons of edits made to the post? Though I emailed them about this and haven't tested it since so that may have changed. ----- Tiers are referred to as "test" and "test 2" with the patron subscribed to test. Each post is a regular text post.
