ADOR Claims Min Hee-jin Distorted and Leaked Music Industry Report; HYBE Chairman’s Email Revealed
Added 2025-03-07 08:23:09 +0000 UTCNew allegations have surfaced suggesting that former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin was responsible for distorting and leaking the "Music Industry Report", one of the key reasons cited by NewJeans in their contract termination announcement on November 29, 2024.
Additionally, for the first time, an email from HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk has been publicly disclosed, revealing his attempt to connect NewJeans with a top-tier American producer.

ADOR’s Court Argument: Min Hee-jin Leaked the Report
At the Seoul Central District Court hearing on the 7th, regarding ADOR’s injunction to preserve its status as NewJeans’ agency and prevent independent advertising deals, ADOR argued that former CEO Min was the only person to have accessed the report on October 22, 2024, just before it was leaked with allegedly malicious edits.
They asserted that misrepresenting internal documents cannot be used as grounds to terminate an exclusive contract.
The Controversial Report and NewJeans’ Reaction
The leaked October 2024 report caused an uproar after it allegedly contained the phrase:
"Let’s throw away Newar (NewJeans, ILLIT, LE SSERAFIM) and start fresh."
NewJeans took this as an indication that HYBE planned to discard them and subsequently demanded action from ADOR through a certified letter, expressing their intention to terminate their contract.
However, HYBE and ADOR refuted this interpretation, explaining that:
The report was originally written on May 10, 2023, before ILLIT even debuted.
The term “Newar” was a media-coined term referring to NewJeans, IVE, and LE SSERAFIM at the time.
The section in question was actually a proposal to restructure branding after LE SSERAFIM received online backlash due to the name's association.
ADOR’s Defense: The Report Was Not Problematic
ADOR further argued that:
The report was sent to Min Hee-jin and former ADOR Vice CEO Shin Dong-hoon when it was written in May 2023, and no concerns were raised at the time.
It is illogical to include a statement about abandoning NewJeans in an official report that ADOR executives had access to.
ADOR has consistently released reports analyzing community reactions to NewJeans and provided strategic recommendations to enhance their success.
HYBE’s Alleged Jealousy? ADOR Refutes Discrimination Claims
NewJeans has accused HYBE of feeling threatened by their success under Min Hee-jin’s leadership, alleging that HYBE intentionally discriminated against, excluded, and even attacked them.
In response, ADOR denied the accusations, asserting that HYBE has provided exceptional support for NewJeans.
To back this claim, ADOR presented new evidence—an email from HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk demonstrating his efforts to connect NewJeans with top-tier producers.
Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s Email: Offering Support for NewJeans
ADOR disclosed an email sent by HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk to then-ADOR Vice President Shin Dong-hoon on January 12, 2024.
In the email, Chairman Bang wrote:
"As I have spent a long time in the United States, I have had the opportunity to interact with many top-tier producers. Some of them are interested in working with NewJeans. How can we best connect them?"
This contradicts claims that HYBE was actively working against NewJeans, instead suggesting that the company was trying to provide opportunities for the group.

I wonder if NJ girls have an inkling now that MHJ has been using them to achieve her own goals. I wonder if they have seen any of the nasty things she has said about them? I would say I just feel sorry for the girls because they've probably been brainwashed and manipulated, but honestly at this point I've totally gone off them, because apart from what MHJ may have instructed them to do, the things (lies) they have said themselves, and some of their behaviours towards others (the snickering, rolled eyes, just disrespectful and entitled behaviour) has really made me feel that I don't like their personalities now. I think they've had it too easy too fast, they think they are all that, and they don't realise there are a lot of other artists out there who are just as, or more, talented and pretty. No one is irreplaceable. I feel like they need to learn a hard lesson, and I hope they get it. What gets me most is the disrespect towards BTS, when the only reason they became so successful so quickly is probably mainly because of BTS. At this point, I think they are just brats.
